Before we begin with a detailed understanding of the Minitab tools, I wanted to take a few minutes to discuss the importance of Minitab as a statistical software, and what's in it for you when you do this course. Let's begin. I was working as a team lead in operations for a transaction processing business.

As a team lead, I had limited skills. I was gaining expertise on being a good people manager on being goal and deadline oriented, on delivering results as envisioned by the senior management, among others. However, I always failed that I'm working in the four walls of my operational team. I wanted to do something different. During that period of my career, one of my old friends introduced me to Six Sigma To Minitab as I learned more about Minitab, the software really excited me. I had a mathematical background.

So I knew that creating a graphical output or completing a statistical analysis would literally take me four pages of calculations, remembering and understanding a flurry of formulas and a number of hours to come to one statistical conclusion. With Minitab I observed that all calculations took place at the click of a button. I did not have to remember any formula and the output was within seconds. I started using Minitab on a daily basis. I practiced, practiced and practiced what happens next is unbelievable. My business was looking to invest heavily on advertising expenses, but was not sure of the return it would earn.

Using the scatter diagram in Minitab. I first understood whether advertising costs and sales are correlated. After observing a strong positive correlation, I further analyze the historical data that I was able to predict how much would be the sales based on the investment in advertisement. As a result, the management confidently invested the required amount and received more than expected returns on their investment. Our organization was suffering heavy client attrition due to several issues using Minitab. I did a Pareto analysis, I was able to identify the 20% causes that had maximum impact on client's decision to leave us, my organization work to improve those 20% causes was thus able to curb client attrition by about 90%.

In another instance, we were required to hire additional staff to manage the increased call volume. However, due to unforeseen global epidemic of swine flu, the HR team was unable to hire the original staff. I created boxplots of average handle time on Minitab. These boxplots revealed a rampant integrity issue on the floor. Call Center agents were releasing customer calls to maintain their average handle time within target. This was resulting in more customer callbacks.

Further analysis identified that the increased call volume may be managed effectively with the existing staff. If the integrity issue was curbed, the operations team receive the analysis and managed these notorious aging The entire season, we were able to manage the increased call flow with a 1% marginal increase in the staff. Think about that. These are just a few instances guys. In a nutshell, I was able to go over and beyond the four walls of operations, due to my increased skill set of Minitab expertise. My Profile became highly visible right from the grassroot level, to the top management level.

Superiors and peers started approaching me with their business problems and looked for statistically backed solutions. That's not all. Many other outside organizations approached with a ton of freelancing assignments to be completed only with Minitab expertise. One of the organization and I'm not joking about it. One of the organization literally hired me and 40 other external vendors. consultants globally at an hourly rate of over $180.

Many universities and training institutions approached to either create their Minitab related training content, or to work with them as a guest lecturer or as a visiting faculty. This additional skill of becoming a Minitab specialist literally helped me shape my career helped me earn more than I expected. It helped me develop a strong client base, and also helped me connect with thousands of young, budding professionals like you. What more can I ask for? Well, why am I sharing this with you?
