In the previous section you had learned how to create a bar chart. In this section you will learn how to create a pie chart. A bar chart takes into account the count data. Whereas a pie chart displays the proportion of each data category relative to the whole data set. Remember, you had done the example of identifying the top three social media sites from the given data. You will now use the same example to identify what is the total proportion of these three sites compared to all other sites under study.
To complete a pie chart, you need one column of categorical data and one column or more columns of corresponding summary data. The resulting pie chart contains a slice for each category. Let's look at the example in the next lecture.
