To create a Pareto chart on Minitab, download the spreadsheet from the resources section of the lecture and paste the data on Minitab choose stat, quality tools, Pareto chart, repeat to stat quality tools, Pareto chart in defects or attributes data in enter surgery cancellation reasons in frequencies in entered number of occurrences and click OK. Here you go. This is your Pareto chart. The chart indicates that the top three surgery cancellation reasons are completed history, physical and lab, medical clearance and rescheduled.
