This is another account I created, just to team up with a couple buddies here and create a some recommendations for them. But in this account, I just wanted to show you basically the different tabs that appear that you could use some of these updates to LinkedIn. And then we'll talk about some some cool tools and tips for LinkedIn. So and here you see, the first tab is the Home tab.
It's where we are right now. Lots of great articles right here. If you'd like to read business articles, and there's tons of awesome stuff that you can check out, you can click here to see all the top headlines for you. Really cool blog, Lincoln's got an awesome blog. So check that out for sure. But then, if you come down here, you also see your connections and you'll see one new update to LinkedIn is that it shows you who people you're connected to are connected to Just made a connection to you can come back you can ask somebody you're connected to you can ask them for an introduction to someone else say so Justin would send a message to Joyce if I wanted to meet Joyce and you know, introduce me.
So that's a great way to get connections, it's a lot better than just, you know, randomly connecting with somebody. Okay. So I'm getting introduced by somebody else that knows that person is probably the best way to utilize LinkedIn to connect with people. But then you also see here it tells you the amount of people that viewed your profile, it also tells you what your LinkedIn network looks like. So right now on this account, I just have two connections with two of my business partners, but then I'm connected to you know, over 1.2 million people so that's cool. And then 5808 new people and my networks and so I seven Okay, and then down here you can see jobs that you may be interested in groups.
You may like you can join companies you may want to follow, okay, so you can also follow companies on LinkedIn. And you can also add an application if you're looking for a job. Okay? Cool. So here on contacts, you can click on your contacts. It'll tell you to people that you're irritated people, you're connected with mine right now our two looks like Justin's got over 500 Plus, he's pretty active on here.
You click on here, you can see your partners. So Justin and I created a partnership where we've worked together, and he described what we did. You can also link up with classmates, colleagues at work, not just friends, which I typically just utilize Facebook for just friends, then LinkedIn. LinkedIn is really good for partnerships, colleagues, things like that to help you get connected, you can import your contacts. You can also organize your profile and look at some network statistics as well on this page in here. groups, the new tab and LinkedIn, you can actually create groups.
I'm kind of like Google Plus, but you basically would just, you know, choose a logo. If you want a logo, name the group, start the group, add a description of the group. This is actually a really great tool to use if you wanted to create your own network, okay, so if you want to create your own little community, then it's a really good idea to form your own groups based on what you're working on. So if you've got a new project you're working on with someone, then you can create a group, add a couple people to it that are in that project. And it's a great way to collaborate. Okay, so groups are great if you want to like lead communities.
If you want to create your own networks, they're very fantastic. And then you click on jobs here, if you're looking for jobs, LinkedIn is a great place to network and find places to work. Okay, so it says tons of jobs you may be interested in, you can add your application, you could search for jobs, really not, like I said outside of the scope of this training, but LinkedIn is great for that as well. Then your inbox is going to tell you who's invited you to their group. And it'll give you any kind of notification that you need. Okay, so it's like Jeff biegler has asked me to be a part of his group.
He tutors math, I tutor marketing. So, you know, we're probably somehow connected in that aspect. And I don't know, Jeff, yet, but he may be connected to somebody I'm connected to. And then you've got companies here. Companies is a new tab as well, you can actually search for companies here, this goes ahead, and it gives us a couple of companies we may want to follow. But you could come in here and just search for, you know, any kind of company, you could come in here.
And I mean, I think most of the Fortune 500 companies are on LinkedIn. So let's say you wanted to search for Apple. Okay? consumer electronics. All right, awesome. So now we've got apple.
