Ladies and gentlemen, today we're going to be doing a musical dictation of one measure dictation this time containing four beats. So that's like four for common time. Yeah. Today we'll only be using the cliches that you have learned so far. You're going to need a pen and a paper, something to write on. And I need you to draw this diagram.
So you're going to have four columns and four rows. All right, go ahead and draw your arrows with with the numbers to that'll help you out. One tip I would like to give you when writing certain notes. You don't need to spend so much time drawing it like let's look at a quarter rest for example. So how I do it is like that and then like This. So that's kind of difficult to draw actually.
I mean, that could take too much time and then you're gonna lose time and trying to hear the dictation. So I would say for stuff like a quarter note rest, maybe you could, you know, do like this. Even I've seen like a quarter note like this. I've seen people icon. So it's up to you, as long as you know what it is, I think that's what's important. First, I'm going to give you an example.
And then we'll get started with exercises. So this is how I'm going to, this is how I'm going to count the exercise. So I'll give you a four beat leading. And then we'll start so 12341 more time. One, two, Three, four. Right?
So we would have quarter note, your shorthand quarter rest, and we'd have a half note. So 1234 maybe one more example 1230. So 1234 bom bom zz only difference. We had these two eighth notes with these guys are exactly the same. Let's get started. Exercise number 1123412 341-234-1234.
Um, alright, let's look at that. So we started out with half note rest. So that's a to be cliche, I guess both of these. And then we had this one beat cliche, quarter note and we had another one, the cliche 1234 excise number 21234 was on 12341234 was on 1234 so that was a quarter note here first beat and we had a quarter rest at a quarter note and then a quarter rest Was 1234312341 more time 123412341234 got a to be cliche here Four eighth notes together here. Then we got a quarter rest here. And we've got our quarter note there.
So 1234 All right, last 1123 412-341-2341 more time, look Slower 1234 Okay, so that's gonna be a quarter rest to eighth notes, quarter arrest, and two eighth notes. So basically this is just a repeat of that sounds like this 1234 hope you did well i'll see you next video.
