Hello, I'm Daniela melon, an author and artist. In today's world, where coronavirus is a global crisis, we are dealing with the new phrase social distancing. Social distancing, in basic form is keeping your distance from others with the purpose of preventing transmission of a contagion. And while this is a valid method to not become infected with the disease, it creates its own series of challenges. These challenges, while crucial to a positive outcome are stressful. By creating a visual journal, we have an outlet to explore our stressors, our new routines, and our successes during this difficult period.

In class, we will create a visual journal, a journal that combines our artwork with our emotions. I'll show a method to create a paper journal, which you can tailor based on the medium you use. Included in class, our downloads with prompts, images, texts and strategies to stay positive. I'll show you a look inside my journal, giving some examples for the prompts shown. Well, I use various supplies like watercolor and collage. I encourage you to use what you have on hand.

I hope you create your own visual journal, and find some inspiring ideas and suggestions in this class. Thank you for taking the time to watch this class. And please stay safe
