Hey guys, Zach here. Welcome to another episode of escape school. In today's episode, we're going to teach you how to slow down when you're riding down hill or maybe going a little too fast. So grab your board and let's get started. To get started make sure you can ride on your board on flat ground very easy. Find a nice medium to large sized Hill close to you to practice on.
Start by riding from the top of the hill down to practice these techniques. Now there's a couple different ways you can slow down while going downhill. The first way you can try is by taking your back foot off of your board, leaving your lead foot on the front bolts of your skateboard. When you start feeling like you're going a little bit too fast and need to slow down. Take your back foot off of your board and skidded alongside the ground. add extra pressure to your foot for quicker steps using your front foot to help balance and guide where the board is going.
Now this takes a little bit of practice, especially with speed, but once you get it down, it's fairly easy to take your foot off and drag it wherever you go. Once you get more comfortable with riding downhill, you can also try our slides to help slow you down. Take your time when learning these tricks and always jump off if you feel unsafe.
