Next, we'll cover some clear do's and don'ts. Number one, be clear on all the explanations. As an example, I showed a friend a few white papers, and the first thing she said was, so basically you over explain everything. And I chuckled. And then I said, you know, it's not over explaining, it's making it very clear, because you have to remember that whoever receives papers, they read a ton of them, they invest in a lot of projects, they overwhelmed information, they want to get everything clear so that they miss a part, they still kind of get the idea later on the paper. So that's the way to think about it.
Don't overload your paper with fluff. I know a lot of these papers are 3040 5060, even 80 pages. Don't put fluff I mean, if it needs to go there, keep put it in there. Like I say, build everything and then cut away if you can. do consider the legal ramifications of what you're doing. So remember the claims you make Remember, you're going to be held to it, and people are going to call you out on those claims.
So make sure that you can back up anything you put. It makes sure that you don't tell a story that's not true. Always revise and reiterate, you know, this is an iterative process is going to continue to go to live beyond the day you publish it. So remember, you're going to have to continue to reiterate, things are going to change as well, to get second and third opinions on your paper. So what that means it's showed you someone you trust, show it to someone you don't know at all, you want to get a stranger's opinion, because maybe your friend won't want to deflate you or hurt your feelings. So they may tell you something's good when it's not, um, do make it visual, add color, add different types of text, different size, different fonts, get creative, but make it pleasing to read because think about it.
If someone's got to read 2000 of these, you want yours to stand out and you want it to flow. So think about that. And number and number one of all be honest, don't tell any lies. Don't make up any claims. Don't you know, assert that your product or you're going to do things that you aren't and so, these are just some general do's and don'ts.
