It's the heart that counts. Really it is. Let me show you how I want you to tell me what you think about your government to tell me, what do you think about your government? Give me a sentence and I really want you to say it. I want you to say it so that you can hear it. So tell me, what do you think about your government?
Okay, that's enough. That's good. Now, same government, tell me what you feel about your government. Feel Okay, do you notice that you had two different answers? When we putting our speech together, it's in our mind, it makes sense. It has a beginning it has a has a middle end, it has an end, we working some way, anything's good when we giving people facts.
It's all in the mind. The problem is, is we need to be able to connect with our audience. And the way we connect with our audience is in the heart, with God to connect to the heart, when we are going to be thinking about what we say we have to feel how they would receive it. All right. Picture this. If you're going to judge me, or you're going to give me assistance in any way this is what I suggest you do, is you need to walk in my shoes.
In other words, spend a day or a moment being me but here's the thing Take your shoes off. Because what we tend to do is when I think about you, I keep my shoes on, as shown colored my background, my history and everything that I do. Then I come on stage thinking about whoever you are as an audience and I go off. I'm thinking about how they feeling. But I've got my shoes on. So I start to judge, I can feel like that.
Come on, it's not that bad. I've had worse happened to me. I only knew what I knew. No, no, no, no, you have to become them. And you take your shoes off. We actually do this exercise, we are good people to take the one shoe off, and then they've got to swap it for somebody else's shoe.
And then you put your foot in that shoe and you actually look at the shoe, the style, where it's come from, where it's going, how does it feel the value, and you get to know who that person is. Because you see what happens is you've got to put yourself in the audience saying if I'm going to see you walk on to stage dress, the way that you dressed, speak in the way that you speak How am I going to not think about you? How am I going to feel as an individual, we have to become our audience. And we have to sit and go, okay? If Shawn color is going to come on stage, and I'm a surfer, and he's going to wear his suit, how am I gonna relate to that? So I have to feel my audience, but the only way I'm going to feel my audience is to actually be that audience.
And then when I go, Ah, this is how I need Shawn to be to me for me to open up and listen to what he has to say, then that's what I do. And then when I come on stage, I act accordingly because I want to connect with your heart. So remember to think about what you're going to say. And then feel how they're going to receive it. And the only way you're going to do that is to be able to feel what it feels like to be in their shoes, without waiting yours. Good morning.
Till next time The power of these dream brings you here.
