When we talk about talent management, what comes to your mind? Most of us who are not aware about this topic would think it's about managing the talent.

And they are right. But let's understand it in connection to a business organization. In relation to a business, the word talent refers to the skills of people. And management is about utilizing those skills in the best possible way so that the business goals could be achieved. So done Management, which is also known as human capital management is a process where the requirement for human capital is assessed and based on this, the talent or the employees are hired, and the skills are developed so that they could meet the business objectives. Now, the talent management cycle involves attracting and integrating the right people developing and engaging them by providing trainings and retaining them as well as recording them.

It's all about finding the right people, adding them to the team of current employees and developing their skills to fulfill the business requires If you're a human resource manager or executive, your role is to attract the right people, help them in developing their skills and retaining them for the longest possible time in the organization. So, talent management equals attracting, developing and retaining the top performing employees to meet the business goals. If you want to understand and remember talent management in a single sentence, I want you to remember this little formula that is shown on the screen. In the next lecture, you'll see why talent management is so important for an organization. I'll see you there
