Baby in that weaning, skipping the puree stage completely and going straight to finger foods at six months. The combo feeding which is combining Peary and finger foods, right at six months when you're introducing solids.

It doesn't really matter which method you choose to try with your baby first, because research shows that there is no superior feeding method. And other methods are great for baby. Sometimes it takes a little bit of experimenting to see what What's best for your family. So don't be afraid to just pick one method and try it out. You might be surprised that baby doesn't like that method after all, and you have to switch back and forth.
And that's okay. Ignore the rules out there on different Facebook groups around baby that rename traditional weaning different types of rules. When we're feeding our baby, there should not be any rules other than making sure that baby is safe and meaning his nutrition. Key to choosing the best feeding method for your family is to pick one that you're most comfortable with. Because we talked about confidence being the key to successful feeding. second factor you want to consider when choosing a feeding method is to watch and learn from your baby.
Wash your baby closely. He will let you know how much he can help At that certain point, if he can handle that food or meal at that time, it's okay to back off and try again later. And also, it's important to trust your own parents instinct. No matter which feeding method you're choosing, I want you to encourage self feeding skills. So even with parade, you can encourage baby to selfie with the spoon. When you're doing spoon feeding.
You don't want to be putting the spoon in baby's mouth. Wait until your baby opened his mouth and goes for the spoon. So you can hold it just right in front of his mouth and he will instinctually go for this with finger foods you want to let them explore on their own. So in the beginning, cut soft foods into bigger pieces about the size of your finger so that baby can easily grab on to Every time you are feeding your baby, it's a learning experience for both of you. Even if baby is not eating the food when food is presented to the baby, it gives them an opportunity to learn. There are many, many steps before eating.
And each step is important to guide baby into eating the food. If they're playing with their meals or paying with their foods, don't take it away. It's a valuable learning experience for them. They need to feel out the texture, they need to know how it feels in their hands. They need to smell it, they need to taste it and know that they can spit it out safely and that they're not going to be forced to eat something. If you have already chose a feeding method for your family.
That's great for you. If you haven't decided which feeding methods to go with, I encourage you to check out that checklist at the end of this module to see what I recommend for your family.
