In this video, let us try to understand the difference between ribbon web command. I'm going to create an L shaped figure in which I am going to create ribbon web and the same modal so that we can better understand the difference. I'm going to create a plane which will be my sketching plane for creating, repairing going for the midplane option. So here I'm drawing a line. So first, let me go for rip option. here if you see for the rip, the depth is going to be parallel to the sketching plane.
When I'm saying to next you can see it is moving parallel to the sketching plane. And I've given 30 mm thickness, which is moving perpendicular to this sketching plane. Usually trips are created in L shaped objects and webs are usually created for closed entities. So here let me again sketch another entity. This time I'm going for a spline on this plane this time I'm taking the web option. So, when I select the spline, you can see in the depth option it is selecting to next option.
So, this face is actually to next at the sticking that other plane and if you see the thickness of five mm is in the direction or within the sketching plane, whereas in a rip the thickness is perpendicular to the sketching plain. Here in the web the thickness is parallel to the sketching plane and the depth is perpendicular to the sketching plane in depth and depth is parallel to the sketching plane interest. So, for the same letters, select the lip option. Here you can see I'm saying that Now the depth it is taking. If you see us going parallel in this sketching plane. Let's again go to web.
Here you can see the difference clearly. My thickness is parallel to the sketching plane and the depth is perpendicular to this sketching plane.
