Welcome to the Pacer study fast application drill. To find the application, type in study fast.uk and click apps in the menu section. From here, you'll be presented with test how fast you can read. This application here is what we'll be using. So the average wind speed is 250 words a minute. What you'll find is we'll have some dummy text in the top box.
However, if you want to practice with some material, which you find interesting, and not some Latin dummy text, simply copy and paste it into the box above. Once you've entered once a minute, hit start, and you'll notice the highlights will move at 250 words per minute. All you need to do is allow your eyes to follow the highlighter Okay, once you've done that, I want you to practice this again, for 10 minutes I'd have is, each time you've gone full text or paragraph, increase the words per minute now simple drill you can do is this 50% increase. So what we're gonna do now is we're gonna bump up to 600 words per minute. So once again, it's like driving an accelerated reading speed. You don't see much that goes past your window at this speed.
But just focus on allowing your eyes to keep up with the Pacer. comprehension should be little to nothing but that's okay at this point. We'll get in your eyes used to moving at a faster speed. Now, if we now break that down and put it two to 300 words per minute, which is a 50 word increase how you started this should seem relatively slow compared to 600 words per minute, obviously, because it's 50% less, you should find you're now combining a little bit more. So what we've done is you're taking your brain for Super compensation effect. The idea that at the beginning, there's high resistance and you're comprehending very little.
So when you come back down to a slower speed, it all seems a lot more easier in comparison to 600 words per minute. Keep playing around with this, like I said, only spend 10 minutes today, doing this to revisit this as often as you like. But the idea is, we're working intensely on small exercises. speed reading is exhausting if done correctly. Take your time increasing the words per minute. But have fun increasing it's 1000 was a minute, but be sure to come back down.
Good luck.
