To similar palette, I like to take just my palette and then the colors that I'm going to use. And I already know ahead of time that I'm going to use four colors plus the color for the skin, which has just this pale orange here a peachy color. And you can mix that with other colors if you don't have that in your watercolor tube. But I'll start I'm gonna start with my deepest red here. This is the Crimson lake and all I do is I just take a little bit and put it on my palette, and then I like to group them in color family. So this is just purely in red.

It's a really true red and I don't need very much of each but I can always come back to it. If I need more. This is a brilliant pink, which is a soft pink. I'll take that pale orange. I'm going to skip a spot here just then I have my yellow Green, my civilian blue. And then my last two are just Browns here I have a yellow ochre, which is a golden brown.

And then I have my van Dyck Brown, which is just a darker brown. Now, to mix my palettes, so that I have the four colors that I want to use, plus the skin color, I just take my water and I'm going to mix the colors. So put a little water on my palette. And then I'm going to mix my first color and it's going to be a very dark and dusty pink. So I take my Crimson lake and a little parallel in red. I mix those together.

I'll take Little this Van Dyck brown as well. And mix that in metal mixing a little water. rinse my brush, mix it up some more, I can put it on my palette. Then the next color I want a very soft pink. So I put some more water on my palette, and I mix this brilliant pink. And I'm going to take just a little bit of this early in red.

To mix in with that. It's a little too dark. So I'll go back in there with the brilliant pink and mix that in it's like it might the light color that I want. I like the way that looks. I'll add a dropper full of water brush full here. Then I'll come over here.

I want a turquoise. So I'll rinse my brush. Take some of the civilian blue. Nice yellow green. Come back in until I get the turquoise color that I want. Starting to look a little bluer and just a little more blue.

Looks good. I'll water that down with some more water after I rinse my water jug here. And then lastly, I want a little sand color. So I'll rinse my brush. Take a little of this yellow ochre, put it down little of this Van Dyck Brown. To deepen it.

I'll come back with some yellow ochre and a little surly in blue. Water that down. Put this on my pallet here. Pick up my turquoise and lastly, my pink. And if there are any colors that I don't like or I want to change, now's the time to do it. I think I've got a water this color down just a little bit.

Maybe two or three brush bottles of water Put that on my palette. So I like the way that looks. I'm going to leave these here and I'm going to save my little swatch as well. I'll put my swatch over here, and then I'll reset the colors as I need them when I use them. In the next chapter, we'll go over using the template
