Now, let's talk about three less productive states or zones of being and doing. We all visit them every day. I want you to be aware of them though, because sometimes in life when we get overwhelmed by life's big stuff, issues, we can feel stuck. The first one is the frozen zone, we're able to move. Now if you don't have one day a year where you want to pull the covers up over your head and stay in bed all day and phone in work or school cuz you're sick. And you're really not it's a mental health day.
Yeah, one day a year. What does it matter? unless that's the difference between not getting paid at work and getting evicted. Maybe you should go to work. But if we're not able to move, we physically feel like we can't move. We can't get out of bed.
We can't leave our room. It's a normal state visit for a few minutes, but it's a lousy place to live it hits our productivity can hurt our grades, our workplace, our relationships. So we If you feel frozen, it's okay for a few minutes. But it's dangerous to our long term health and productivity to be there. So if you feel frozen, it's not a character fraught, to be stuck. Ask for help.
The second one of the three is the flicker zone of being and doing, we can't focus. Something's unresolved or things are unresolved or we're feeling overwhelmed. We get pulled off track. And my one quote for you on this state of being is what we repress makes us regress. It's the only quote I believe, is truly mine. What we repress what we don't deal with, makes us regress means it pulls us backwards, like it's an invisible anchor, slowly pulling us under.
So, if we feel flickered few minutes a day. If you don't feel flickered on occasion, I want to know your secret. But don't let yourself be stuck and live there. Ask for help. It's a sign of courage to ask for help. Family, friends, medical professional, healthcare professional, educational professional, ask for help, get to help practice the skills we offer that will help as well.
The third state, and the three less productive zones are states of being and doing is the frenzy zone. It's like we have too much energy. If we can't settle down, we can't be quiet. Sometimes we get heart palpitations, we get nervous sweats. We got a small river under our armpits, despite the best deodorant and any aspirin going on the marketplace. What's unresolved?
What's making you feel threatened? Is there a past or current event that's not been dealt with? no judgment. Don't judge yourself. Again. Ask for help.
Practice the skills. Go to the meetings. Do what you can to get the help you deserve. Asking for help is a sign of courage. Not a weakness, go out there and make it happen. Because during my battles with my cancer, and she's good now during my daughter's brain tumor, trust me on a personal level and as a dad, I had frozen times I had flickered times and I had friends in times.
I just have learned to go hmm I guess I got some things to learn. Hmm, what am I going to do about it? With the flickered in the frenzy? A phone a friend went for some pretty intense bike rides. Nobody goes for a bike ride with me. When I'm going through Flickr and frenzy to smell the flowers, see that hill last one up buys coffee.
And off we go. I burn off my Flickr and frenzy stress. Because I get too hot. I get too wound. It's a way for me to decompress. So look at flopping flow, frightened, fun.
Help pull us away from Frozen, flickered and frenzy. So imagine yourself with more resilience for life. You could do this. I know because I've done it. You can too.
