Welcome to Section four organization and eligibility. So we've seen about strategic thinking strategy, how to make choices and make decisions. And now part of that is tasked to be translated into the organization. an agile organization takes decision fast. And you say what to translate strategy into action. So how can you achieve organizational agility, we've seen the conflict between day to day exploitation and exploration, the change in the projects.
Let me just show you a couple of images that you can see that picture how an organization would look from the top here you have two maps. One is Rome, in Italy, an old city, ancient city, thousands of years. And then on the other side, you see New York City, Manhattan, and you see how it's square and very clean and it's all very symmetric, very easy to follow. These are two organization types. Imagine that there's the task We need to go from point A to point B that says more projects that we need to carry out. What you see basically is that, obviously in Rome, it's going to be more difficult than streets are narrow and, and you need to know where to go and talk to the people get some alignment to get to the point be, what happens to New York City is so much more straightforward.
You know the path, you have clarity, you have the resources, and you execute, which one is faster. Obviously, in New York City, this type of organization happens a lot in in Asia, they're extremely lean, they're very fast in execution. I've studied some of these organizations, and they really have that path and that support to execute projects and then sell them to the market very quickly. But if you look one level below into the organizational chart of a traditional business, they're still very much or Nice silos in departments, compressed boxes, where people belong to job descriptions. What happens in this kind of structure is that is great for running the business very efficient, but it's not easy to carry projects because they need resources from different parts. So projects are not a priority.
And they counter always problems. The best companies, what they will do is create 100% dedicated team where the resources work together, and they will carry out that project transformation digital transformation for two years. And that's how you can achieve agility by moving parts of the business part of those resources into a fully dedicated team that will carry out the project. That's how you can achieve organizational agility
