Hi there. In our last session, we have seen how to create a project with Eagle, and how we can create a new schematic with Eagle. Now let's actually get started with drawing a schematic of power supply. So click on the new and click on the schematic. I had not saved it last time, that's why it's not saved. Once you open the schematic or click on the schematic, a new window will open where you can place your schematic on sockets.

I will do first thing as to save the schematic. Let us give it a name like circuit diagram. Now if you look at this workspace of Eagle schematic, then you can see this is the area entire area where we will be drawing our schematics and these are different tools that we will use to While the process of creating a schematic, I won't go through them all right now because it's useless now, all we need to do right now is to get started with creating a schematic fast, and then we'll see those tools one by one as they're needed. This year. As you can see, there is a cursor always blinking on this window here. Why this cursor is blinking is because Eagle works on some commands.

Definitely you can choose these tools right over here by clicking them like this add part. So I can click on Add part and a window to choose the parts will open up for me. But at the same time, when I'm doing the designing, I'm my mouse is better off in this workspace. So I can just start typing add. You can see that this type here and click on Enter and that will open the app Parts window. Similarly, there are a number of different commands, we'll see them one by one, as we need them immediately right now we don't need any of them.

So just remember the command or the first command that we discussed, I'll keep track of it, which is add. So just type add, and Enter. Now here, you can select the components required to create a power supply. For my case, I need a transformer. So what you can do is just type whatever you want and click on Enter. So in the built in library, whatever type of different transformers are available will be shown to you.

Now remember, I'm creating a very simple schematic and that's why I don't need any complex thing or any complex kind of transformer. Instead, whenever I will be creating the PCB actually Instead of transformer, I just want a two pin connector or just plain two pin connector to do that, or to place that instead of searching for a transformer, search for m 02. Let's see. m 02. Got that. So this is a quick connector with a standard spacing between the two holes of its specific package which is point one inch.

If I want to place this connector, just double click that it is shown here and you can place it anywhere you want. Again, if you want, you can place it somewhere. With right click, I'm doing direct clicks. You can change the orientation of this connector the way you want it and if you have done placing the component like I am placing it one more time, then you can just click on the first click, and now click on escape. Once I click escape, I will come out of that particular space. Now similarly, I'll search for diode one and 4004.

It's something I use to create the rectifier. So let's use this again to place this and use the right click and to zoom in and we'll use the scroll wheel of my mouse. So this is how I ended for diodes to be put. Then I need a 470 micro farad capacitor. So 470 micro farad is not there. So let's search for capacitors.

Definitely when you search capacitor, lots of different components will be available to you For now, let's take this C poll or polarized capacitors, which will show us number of different parts. Remember, if the parts package that you see here, here you will see the symbol and here you will see the PCB package. The part package part looks completely red, it means this is a surface mounting type device. Right now, I don't want a single surface mounting type device. So, we should not choose this kind of components. Instead, we should choose those kind of components which are p p h or which supports the printed through hole.

Now to search for any such capacitor, which is completely matching our criteria would be difficult. If you look at the library, the entire library of the eagle, you will see a number of different package names This is a package package name, which is a 19 inch slot euro course. So there are a number of different packages. But still, those are the ones which comes built inside the eagle. And we are not limited to these components. That's the beauty of Eagle.

And that's why for creating all the general purpose schematics and symbols for our circuit diagram and layout, what we will do is we will use some specially created libraries for our usage. We will be installing two libraries in our Eagle software and one is provided by sparkfun and another one is provided by Adafruit. Those libraries contain almost all the components that we need for all our requirements for now. And even if there are such components which are not present in the library, we will try to create them on our own, but that will come in this latter stage. So in the next video, we'll see the installation of library and then we will try to finish our schematic Koff power supply that's it for this video. Thank you for watching
