I'm going to start with something that was probably the most valuable thing for me. This is not something I hear many other people talking about. But I'm certainly not the first to invent this. A lot of people and this includes me once upon a time, but sit down at our desk, set up keyboards. Okay, I'm going to going to write something. And I'm just going to think of what that is.

Okay, I have an idea, write it. All that sentence doesn't quite work rewrite rewrite. The end result is that I would spend hours trying to write a paragraph. And by the end, it wasn't even that good. So it was a pretty bad use of time. And then somewhere along the line, I just kind of caught on to this idea of separating out my writing into three phases.

Now these three phases not only made my writing so much better, it made it a lot faster. It's incredibly fast for me to write now. Before It used to probably take me a couple of hours to write an article. Now I often get them done in 15 minutes. If it's a really long and complex article might take me 30. Either way, I'm so much better now using this three phases approach than I was before.
