So now I want to go in and start my cork here. With my number one brush, I'm going to mix my color first. And I'm going to take some sepia and a little Van Dyck Brown. Also take a little yellow ochre, put it on the side here and mix some of this color in with it, so we get a little blend here. I'm gonna switch to my number four brush, wet it, and I'm going to pick up some of this darker color that we mixed. And now I'm going to go on make a reverse See, and I'm only going to do the top of this cork here, just like this.
And then this is the wet pigment on the dry paper. And I'm going to continue doing it until I create my shape of the color. Work just on the side here from 12 o'clock to six. I'm gonna be very careful outline the base here. And then with a very sharp point, I'll go and pick up more pigment and just create the outline very thinly around the cork. Now I'll come in deposit a lot more pigment just like this, take a little more sepia, mix it in and drop it in the wet area that we created.
Again, emulating that reverse see shape. Now I'm going to rinse off my brush and remove a good deal of the water, dab it on paper towel, my brush is still damp. And I'm going to start and make a little damp see parallel to the one we have here. And then I'll go in blend out that color. I'll pick up a little bit really wet pigment and allow it to blend. Again, I'll rinse off my brush, dry it off and just blend this edge just to make it a little fuzzier.
I'll go in, blend that wet area and just help those lines blend out completely. I'm going to switch to my number one brush, again with that dark color that we have. And I'm going to outline the cork over here, very thin, light strokes, very controlled. very thinly underneath this glass lip. Gonna deposit a lot of pigment on the right hand side. Then I'm going to rinse my brush Pick up some of that lighter color that we mixed.
Put it right on top of that color and just blend it to the side. I'm going to pick up that color and go right up here to the cork. Do the same thing. Then I'm going to rinse my brush, remove the water and just help that edge. Again, rinse my brush, remove the water and work on that edge. And I'll keep doing this until I get a very soft blending.
I'll come back with a damp brush and push my edge right to the side here. I want a very soft blend. I'll come back and get some water. If I have too much water here, I'll try and push my pigment to the side or I'll dab it with a paper towel. I think right now I'm pushing it just fine. Getting the concentration of pigment on the right hand side.
I'll rinse my brush, dry it off, pick up some of this darker color and just dab it in on the right hand side. Again, that's the look we want. The heaviness on the right. I also want a little bit of pigment right below that lip and we'll let this layer completely dry.
