Are you interested in combining art and food? A watercolor illustrated recipe is a fun way to emphasize the beauty of cooking along with the elegance of watercolor.
In this course, we’ll create a step-by-step recipe for Tequila infused with spicy jalapeños. The shapes and colors of the ingredients lend themselves to a beautifully illustrated painting. The brilliant greens and rounded shapes of the pepper coordinate with the thick glass bottle with rounded top of the spirit.
What will you learn in this class?
We’ll review options for the layout, as well as color choices, and an optional background.
Using the class downloads, select the image placement design that appeals to you. Then, trace the images using the class template. Begin adding pigment in layers to the 8x10 painting, as suggested in the course. When your images are built up, select the text for the recipe instructions, either minimal or in-depth, according to your preference.
You should have 8x10 watercolor paper, watercolor brushes, pigments, a waterproof permanent marker.
