I said this earlier and I want to say it again, because it's such an important point. Your goal when you're speaking or when you're telling a story is not to be concise. I know some of you think that's the goal and I have clients come to me all the time, say, TJ, teach me to be concise. No. I don't want you to be long winded just for the sake of being long winded. I don't want you to speak for seven hours is Fidel Castro once did.
I want you to speak primarily for impact on your audience, and take as much time as you need. It's certainly possible to be too long, but it's far more possible to be too short by leaving out critical story elements. So remember, you're not trying to be concise. You're trying to communicate
