Welcome, Mike, everyone, all right, wireless, we're not going to get deep into wireless, we're not going to start going to all different standards or anything like that is once you know a couple basic things. All right. Now that's going to be in your certification. All right. access points. I don't want us lowercase our access devices that are at an age that can connect to the switch ports and the access layer.
Yes. Okay. That's the whole point of an access point is to access wired networks, wired network switches provides connectivity between wired and wireless environments or between VLANs and wireless VLANs CCNP switch does not cover wireless access point support. So the right there, well, they actually had to put something in there. That's a page Okay, so now two modes that you need to be aware of, if you look, I have a lot of scores out there, if you want to get deep into that you can go out and take a look at it. All right now there's a lot of detail in it.
But again, you don't need detail wireless for this at all, at all. APS operate in two modes autonomous, which is they're pretty much independent on their own. And then lightweight Mo, we they talk to a wireless controller and that's what everybody wants. They should they should. Alright, we're AP talk to a wireless controller that actually controls all their devices, okay. They control all their APS, you have to do it that way.
The wireless controller wants to go ahead and send the configuration any update, what have you, okay, to the APS, but again, two modes. lightwei mode is the one that's preferred now, versus autonomous mode, which is something that you don't know you don't want is that as you know, hey, just connect to me. There's no control, you got to take care of that yourself. All right. And again, all depends on the type of wireless devices you have. Just to give you something extra.
If you are creating a wireless network, one of the first things you do I tell everybody from way back in the day is you got to do your physical site survey and your radio site survey, you need to look and see the frequencies that are around, are there any dead zones, dead spots, whatever you want to call, alright, so you'll run into issues later on. It's not just putting up access points willy nilly, you really got to make sure that hey, especially if you're in a hospital, okay, you got a lot of equipment that is emitting a lot of interference, or EMI. So you got to make sure that when you're putting your wireless access points out there, you know, because you got long hallways, and there's different types of equipment you can use. And again, I won't get into it, because again, there's not going to be covered in your ccmp exam.
But just to give you something extra You are interested, I do have water scores. I'll explain all this stuff. All right there, you can go ahead and create your wireless network. Alright, that said, I'll see you in the next
