All right, hi, well, social media should really come with a big health warning. It's great. You can share loads of stuff with your friends, your links, other people's links, and they can see it. And that drives traffic to your site. And it's targeted traffic. Fantastic.

Problem is, how much do you do? You might tweet one of your links, and maybe one or two people follow the tweet and go back to your site. Is that a worthwhile return on investment of your time? I don't know. But what I do know is social media can be a huge great time kill. And it can be unproductive time as well.

And I've been guilty of this and I'm sure a lot of other people have spending too much time on social media. I mean, you can find yourself going to Facebook in order to do something that you think would benefit your followers think that would benefit your company, that general all around good thing for your work and you'll end up looking at pictures of cats for five minutes. I mean, this is what happens. So what I've got here is a few ways where you can use social media more productively. And the first tool I'm going to introduce you to is Hootsuite. So what I'd advise you to do is Google Hootsuite HWOTSU i t.com.

And what you should do there is sign up there, and I'll just log in and show you how it works. So all you do when you're logged into Hootsuite is to add all your social networks now what you can add is Twitter, LinkedIn, your Facebook profile, and your Facebook pages. It doesn't work with Google Plus But you have the ability to send the same message to multiple social networks at the same time, and you can also schedule them. And you can schedule as many as you like. So you could schedule 20 tweets to go out during the week at various times during the day. And bear in mind the best time to share on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn will be morning's lunch times and afternoons.

Of course, it depends on where your customers are and what sort of customers you have. Of course, you've got to think about New York lunch times, which are similar to West Coast mornings are a good time. And the end of the day in New York, which is similar to sort of lunchtime on the west coast. That's assuming most of your customers are in the United States. But the point with Hootsuite is that you've got a chance to schedule things and get multiple things done instead of doing them at various times through the day and interest routing your workflow. And you can also, as I mentioned before sent to multiple social networks, Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook through Hootsuite.

But that's not all with Hootsuite. The other thing you should do is load the portlets for Chrome, and this is an add on that you get through the Chrome Store. And I've already got it here. So there it is. So what I'll do is I'll show you on this blog post on our website, creative designs calm. And if you've got an article that you believe your followers will be interested in, and remember, you've got to always promote other articles as well as your own.

You just click on the Hootsuite Hootsuite there, the add on in the top right hand corner of your Chrome browser. And there you can send an update to Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook page and your Facebook profile and Monday next week. At 150 in the morning, and shedule. And that's all done. So that will go out in a few days time you can forget about it. And people who are logged on to the various social networks will see that update and click on the link.

And you can do many of those and set them up for the whole of the week. And it's done. So as I said, You can't do that for Google Plus, but there's a similar tool for Google Plus, and it is called do share. And it's another chrome add on. So if you just Google do share Google Plus, or to share chrome to share Google Plus Chrome, and that'll take you to the Chrome Store, where you can add it to Chrome, then all you do is click on it. It's this here, the number click on it.

If you just click on the article you've just saved you can then writes something about the article here, and then you can choose whether you want to send it to your group. plus profile or to one of your google plus pages, and you can schedule it as well similar to the Hootsuite Hootsuite, or you can just send it out now. And that will go out to your Google Plus stream or your Google Plus page. So there's two tools to help you shedule and post to multiple social networks without actually having to go to the social network to do it and get distracted. Another thing you can do in YouTube, and this is a kind of similar social media hack if you like if you go into your YouTube settings, and connected accounts, all you can do is connect your Facebook and Twitter and then it will share with your Facebook and Twitter feed every time you if you want every time you uploaded a video.

Every time you add a video to a public playlist every time you comment on a video, or in my case every time you like a video, so it's just another way of easily collecting up synchronizing your social media and increasing your tweets, your Facebook posts and your LinkedIn updates.
