Okay, hi, well, here is our website creative designs.com that I've been working on in front of you. I've been videoing everything I've done been doing it day by day. Of course, I take care of my own business as well. So it has taken me a while to create these videos for you. But I just wanted to show you how we were getting on. Remember, we've got our blog there, and we wrote three articles.
Firstly, and then we did this article together, I videoed creating this article, and I've just done another one. And I'll explain more about that later. But we'll show you the analytics. Now I must have set up the analytics on Monday, April the first and the date Today is May the 10th. So this has taken me a while to create these videos. But I just want to show you a bit about the analytics.
Bear in mind, anything I've done to the website you've seen, there's nothing else that's going on. But interestingly enough, we've had 235 visits from 135 unique visitors. Okay, so a lot of those visits will be from me. But there have been at least 134 other people visiting the website, they've viewed on average, just over three pages of visits. And they've spent on average, nearly a minute on the site. And I always look into traffic sources, because this is where some of the most useful information is.
So if we go into overview there, we'll see the bulk of the traffic is direct traffic, and now a lot of that will be me, the green and the blue is split up between referral traffic and shared traffic. Let's have a look at the referrals. You see I've linked to it from my sites there is linked from StudioPress. That's because I wrote about it in a forum. There's an From my blog guest, and I'm going to come on to that later because we're going to be talking in this lecture about guest blogging. And this is very important way of getting links.
I've linked to it from a YouTube video as well. So links are extremely important for websites, there's two things they need to be they need to be quality, they need to come from quality websites, and they need to come from relevant websites as well. And that's going to the most important traffic at this stage on this particular site. And that's the search engine traffic. So if we go search organic here, and now we see that we've had 28 visits over the last month or so remember, that's the first month of the site, and we've hardly done anything to it. And this is what those visitors have searched for in order to come to our site.
So let's have a look at all of them. Now. The top of course is not provided. And that's a bit of a shame there because Google now doesn't provide nearly 50 Send this data whereas you used to get all of it but not to worry. And you can see that a lot of people have come having searched in Google for the nature of teamwork. And in your remembering in the blog, there's an article there nature of teamwork.
That's what they search for. And they've no doubt arrived on this page and seen this article. And if they've liked the article, of course, they can leave their email address or they can contact the company. So back to the organic search terms that people come here having searched for creative design, creative marketing designs, London. Remember, we've got London as a keyword on the homepage, freelance web developer blog. And look at this even better, London based design logo company.
Six pages per visit. I promise you none of these have me, the Cross my heart hope to die. These are genuine statistics from people who are searching for London. creative design agency. So you can see that some of these terms could well be coming from people with a buying mindset. So people who are looking for logo design company, that's customers, that's money.
These are people who are on Google searching for terms like logo designers, web designers, web development, they're maybe looking for companies, such as a hypothetical company. So this shows you the power of blogging, all we've done is created a few blog posts, we've hardly created any links at all, although I would advise you to carry on creating blog posts, and carry on creating those links. And that's what I'm going to talk to you about in this lecture links. So I'll go back to overview there and then we'll see our stats. We're gonna leave Google Analytics now but I would advise you to keep one eye on Google Analytics almost every day to see how your stats are doing and see where your visitors are coming from because this provides ideal data for you to use in your blogging. So there we go.
So we're under guest posts now. And I'm just going to go to one of my favorite blogs. And this is called famous bloggers. dotnet. There it is. And remember I told you I got an add on here for Chrome that tells you the Google PageRank and the alexa rank.
And here you see, the site's homepage has Google page rank of four, which is okay. The alexa rank is amazing. It's nearly 10,000. That is a very high or in this case low because the lower the better with Alexa. That is a very high alexa rank. So this blog is getting a huge amount of traffic.
Thousands of visitors a day, I'm not too sure, maybe 10,000 visitors a day. So that's a hell of a loss. And if you want, you can just click contribute and submit your article. And here it gives you some rules for guest posting. So what you do is register for account, which I've already done, of course, I already have submitted an article for this website. And I did this last year sometime.
And in the article, it lets you put in links to see that link goes to my sites or within the body of the article, which is good. But also you can add links in the author box, and I'll show you how to do that. So as I say, I've already registered for account with famous bloggers. So all I have to do is go into their back end, which is the same as going into the back end of any WordPress website. You just put WP admin on the end, and then it takes you to your dashboard, which is just like the dashboard of your blog. But as you see you have less options down the left hand side.
And that is because you haven't got the full administration privileges, but what you can do is edit your profile and in here you have Brian graphical info. And this is what appears in the box after your guest post. So you have an ability to put a Facebook profile LinkedIn profile, Google Plus number and Twitter ID and a bit of biographical info. And you can put two links in there, not just one. So that's the profile. But I've also gone in and created a guest posts.
And here it is. I'll just say that before that this wasn't necessary. But I wrote to the owner of this blog whose name is Hashem subida. And here I just say, hey, Hashem, would you like me to do a guest post on how to build a business website, and he's come back to me about our life saying that would be great. So I've had a bit of a contact with him there. And I've written guest post and it's over 1000 words, which I hope you'll like, obviously made it as good as I possibly can.
It's just like writing a post in your own blog. But obviously, there are less options that you can't add images here. Although I might send them an image. If you save draft and preview, you can preview the post, just like you can in in your own blog and it will show you how it's gonna look if it's published. So there it is. And you'll see here is a link to an article in creative designs.
So go back to the blog, you'll see I've written another article here called the benefits of running your own business. There is a new blog posts and creative designs. And in the guest blog post that I'm writing for famous bloggers, there's a link to this blog post the benefits of running your own business. Now, that's a good link, because it's it's in the body of an article. It's not in the author box. So that's good.
It's an internal link. It's not linking to the homepage. Obviously, most links are going to go to the homepage, but you do want links going into internal pages as well. There is one thing that's not so good about this is that famous blog is a very general blog. It's not relevant to the design industry. They do have a category called design which I've put it in, but it's not perfect in that it's not a design blog, but obviously there are plenty of design blogs out there.
And we can try and guest posts for them. So there's my author box. And as you see, it's got the Facebook link, Google Plus length LinkedIn link and the Twitter link. And I'm pretty happy with that I've had a read for it. It's nice and long. I've put in some subheads.
It's got links in the, in the design category. I've added some tags. And I've written a method description. So instead of publishing, I just click submit for review, and they see the post has been submitted. So now I can write to Hashem and say, I have just misses that post or review. You like it.
So there we go. So hopefully the blog post will be published and we'll get a link on a very high quality high trafficked blog. Just another point about guest posting, if you go to my blog, guests.com and login then you can go here And click on the forums say I'm blogging about design or whatever your niche is. And if anyone's interested, I've got articles for guest posting, or I can guest post on an article of your choice here. If you just write a few posts in the forum, you'll get loads of people contacting you with blogs saying yeah, sure, right for my blog, and you have to make a decision based on the PageRank of the homepage and the alexa rank of the best blogs that you can put your guest posts on. But you've got to keep doing that.
Once in a while. Obviously, most of your stuff will go on your own blog. But guest blogging is a great way to do two things. One is to put yourself in front of a new audience, a fresh audience that can come back to your website, and the other is for guessing good, high quality, relevant links, which will help you rank better in Google. So I hope you enjoyed that. This is Rob from Rob carbon calm good.
Bye
