Okay, so today we're gonna be talking about LinkedIn. Now I'm probably preaching to the converted here, because I'm sure you all have a LinkedIn profile. Because LinkedIn is like the Facebook for professionals. It's really where you go to get in touch with people who work in the same area as you and also people in allied industries as well. If we just go to my profile here, you want to of course, spend some time editing your profile, put in as much information as you can about yourself. Here I've got a summary put as much information as you can there.
This is actually a SlideShare presentation because they have an app where you can import one of those. Now here under experience, I have this I'm working as a company called Rob cabin limited, which, of course, is my company. And I've got a link and a logo there and a logo there. That is actually because I created a company page, which I'll come back to in a minute, but later on the profile is good to put projects here. I've got a portfolio here that links through to the portfolio in my website, which is another link, which is always good. And then underneath you've got languages skills, and education and recommendations.
So I'd recommend you do all that. And if you go to companies, I recommend you also add a company here and in order to do that, you would create a company page like the one I just showed you. Here's one for Rob carbon limited. And to do that you need to upload a big image, as well as two different sized logos and offer a obviously a blurb about the company, the industry the date, it was found. Did the address and importantly the website, so you have another link there. So that's your profile.
I'm sure you've done it already, just have a quick look at it, see if there's anything you've missed. But for the moment, I've found that LinkedIn, absolutely fantastic for networking, or setting up relationships and friendships with other people within your niche. And the way I do that, primarily, is through groups. And in LinkedIn, you're allowed to become a member of 50 groups, and I'm in groups that are to do with graphic design, web design, entrepreneurial activities, WordPress, website, monetization, blogging, SEO, all sorts of stuff. And in these groups, if I go into one of them here, you can always tell if it's a good group, if there's a lot of conversations going on, and a lot of different people posting and if you click on members, you can see that this group has nearly 100,000 members. If you want to share your links with LinkedIn, it's possible to To share them with numbers of groups at the same time, although I would exercise caution with this as I would definitely have a relationship with the group first before you do this, because multiple sharing of your own links or groups could be looked down upon as publicizing yourself a little bit too much.
But I'll just show you basically what you do, let's get our most recent blog post here, how to get freelance web design jobs. So let's copy that title. And if you wanted to make this and update on LinkedIn, you could just put the title in and the web address much like you would with Twitter and then you can just share it on LinkedIn. And then if you click Share here, you can then click post to groups. And then if you start typing the name of the group, like creative designs, writers, you can then post this to multiple groups and you can put a subject and a link in the detail and write in the detail more about the link that you're sharing that now you can be a member of 50 groups and all these groups can have 10s of thousands of members. So this is a very powerful sharing tool.
So I would exercise it with complete caution. Only share it with groups that you have a relationship first of all with and you're pretty sure that they won't mind you sharing relevant articles from your blog before you use it. But it is a very powerful tool. More than that. Have a look in the groups ask questions, answer questions and create relationships with people in your niche because as we all know, LinkedIn is an extremely powerful social network for professionals. Okay, thank you.
