You've learned to control your speed on the hillside age. Now it's time to learn that direction control as well. So we're going to be making our way down the slope in a zigzag. So this is super crucial just to get comfortable to be able to control that direction and speed and be able to stop on a dime and change direction when needed. So how are we going to do this, we're going to start off with nice equal weight on both feet, and that nice huge side slip position. So if I want to move over to the left hand side, I'm going to shift my weight onto that left leg, let the joints relax on that side and the flatten, so the knee just gently drifts over the toes.
That'll help me release the edge in the snow. So I can actually slide over to the left. So when I'm sliding over to the lake, I want to make sure my eyes look up in the direction of travel and my shoulder stays in line with the board with this nice good neutral posture up top. To stop. I'm just going to shift my way back to center, bend down through the knees and ankles, pulling those toes up into the roof of the boot and stop just like we did before and the sight slip to head over to the right. It's just a mirror image.
I'm going to shift my way onto that right leg, relax the joints again, let the H release in the snow so I can drift over making sure my eyes are looking over to the side of the slope and to stop and gain control of that speed. Just back to center, flexing down slowly and gradually getting a nice grip from that edge.
