Circle of Resilience has been adapted from an NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) technique called 'Circle of Excellence'. This strategy allows you to step into powerful emotional states on demand! In NLP, we say this strategy is the ingredient to achieving exceptional results in your life. I use when I have to speak to a large group of conference attendees and I'm feeling anxious. I've practiced it enough now that I can access it subconsciously. This strategy is great for: increasing your confidence during a public speaking closing a sale being productive taking an exam competing in a sport having patience with others When you practice the Circle of Resilience in the areas you wish to use it in, you will: be at your best and do your best 'steer your own bus' because you'll be flexible with your emotions be more positive keep getting excellent results at what you do learn how to regain your emotions and master them. What mental states can you include your Circle of Resilience? You can create as many circles as you want and even make each one a different color! Here are a few ideas for mental states when it comes to resilience: gratitude flexibility having a victor mindset or mental toughness confidence curiosity or solution-thinking Do the following in this lecture: 1. Watch the animation video (1-minute) 2. Read the attached handout - these are the steps to the exercise 3. Use the audio clip to help you with one mental or emotional state you wish to have in a specific context. Make sure you practice this mental state 3 times or more in one sitting.
