We'll cover in this video is about how you can make money from selling books, paperbacks, Kindles and audio books. And it's not just about the royalties you get from Amazon costs, you get the royalties every time a book is bought. But this video is about how to increase the money that you make from your readers. And the way you do that the number one way you do that is to get the readers email address, because once you've got their email address, you can then supply more useful information to them via email, and also upsell them higher price items. So let's get going. I'm going to give you the example of my new book to show you all this.
And I'm using every opportunity I can to try and get their email address but there is a few other things that I do. I want to show you in this book. Here is the text I creates the book on a Google Doc. As you can see, and here we go straight into the book. And I am starting with some of the most interesting and welcoming, inviting text that I can possibly write. I rewrote this, just everything to try and get people drawn into the book.
Here's a picture. And I'd have a nice bright, welcoming, exotic image right at the beginning or several of them. And already, there's a link to my site. But scrolling down, there's something even more important, and I've already set the scene. I've given the reader more information about what the books about and hopefully sold the book to them. So they want to read the book.
And so they're interested in what I've got to say, but I stopped there after maybe 500 or 700 words. Immediately introduced them to my free content. So here is a link to some free video courses of tuition that will help them in the same subject. It's relevant to the book. So the book is about becoming a location independent entrepreneur. And these video courses will help people with their entrepreneurial skills with websites and email marketing and passive income and that sort of thing.
So it's in the first five or 10 minutes of the book that I am directing them towards these free video courses they may not be interested in and that's doesn't matter because there are plenty more ways in the resulting text. But I'm going to show you why that this is in the first five or 10% of the book. But quick note there, the link to the free courses is a redirect. I'll show you that in another way. But if you carry on In the book, there's more images that I think will draw people in. And more links, and I probably put people back to the website.
But I just want to show you the beginning again, in Amazon. So here is the book on Amazon. And as you know, if you click on the books cover, you get to read the first 10% on Amazon to see if you like the book. So there's the table of contents. And this is exactly the same as what I just showed you in the Google Doc. But it's interesting that people can click on this link here on Amazon without having bought the book, and they're on my websites and they might want to sign up there.
But even better, there is the offer to the free courses. They could sign up to the free courses from Amazon, and I could get their email address that way. And they may not have even read the book, but there is is they can see the second picture they can carry on reading and carry on reading, clicking the links, hopefully, but they are really interested in the book. And that's the end of the sample. So hopefully they they buy but it's just to show you how those links at the beginning of the book may attract potential readers before they've bought the book. Or even if they're never going to buy the book to my website to sign up to my list, who I made, then, at a later date, sell a higher priced item to now I've got to show you the paperback.
So of course in a paperback, you can't click a link. Here is the same text in the paperback. This is on sale on Amazon. And the images are now black and white. Actually, you could keep them color. The prices on CreateSpace and Amazon for color printing interiors are actually quite reasonable.
But let's have a look at the links. There's the link to my website. It's in its Alex because people aren't going to click on it by This is the reason or one of the reasons for the redirect, Rob cabin comm slash free courses, it's easy to remember, it's easy to type. It's not the actual link, it redirects to the link. But the reason for making it easy to type easy to remember is mostly for the paperback book. So people if they're interested in the free courses, they'll put the book down, go to their computer, go to their phone, and key in that link and sign up for one of the free courses, and then go back to reading the book.
But there's more. There's so much more as I say, I've got lots more links in the book back to my site. But whenever I have need to direct the reader towards resources, and I want to list them in the book, like a list of websites in the book that doesn't look very nice course you do have websites in the book and obviously links to your website, and if they're reading on a tablet, they can just tap that on the Kindle app. It will open up the browser app. And they're on the site. However, this particular link is to direct them to resources.
And it's another redirect easy to remember easy to type Rob coven.com slash Kindle eight. And there's the resources guide for the book. So this is all the stuff that I think is useful for the readers of this particular book. And look how I begin again, there's another call to action to sign up for the free courses. Also, there's a call to action here to leave a review as well. This is also very important, but if you scroll down, there's another way of making money.
A lot of these links are affiliate links. So for example, as I say the book is about being location independence and traveling and working all around the world. And there's lots of products that I could recommend here and lots of products I do recommend and then my affiliate links. You can't put affiliate links in Kindles, or in books in Amazon, but you can direct people towards the resources link where you do just that. So there's many more products here. And of course, travel agencies, money exchange agencies, they pay very good affiliate rates, and lots more resources that are useful for people who are reading the book.
And that's in the Kindle version. Of course, the link is in the paperback just typed out Rob coven comm slash Kindle eight easy for someone to then type into their browser while they're reading the paperback. But let's go back to the original text of the book. And because there's a lot of there's another link to my site. There are a lot of links as well that go to just useful sites and they're not affiliate links, but they get the user Are the reader in the habit of clicking links, which again is going to be useful to you because you want them to click links, you want them back on your site where you can get their email address. So I'm just scrolling down at the bottom of the site, which is littered with links and references to my websites, as well as useful information.
But right at the end, there is another call to action to go to my site if they haven't had enough, and another call to action to make use of the free courses where I get their email address, and another call to action to review the book or recommend it to a friend right at the end there. They might really have enjoyed the book, and they'll be happy to leave a review. It's nice to prompt them at that stage, because that is when they're most likely to leave the review. And there's a link to my Amazon author page, where I may get sales for other books that I've written. So, I hope you enjoyed that video, it's more about how to make more money from your readers, rather than just the royalties that you get from the Kindle or the paperback. And the most effective way of all of these methods is to get their email address.
So you can then back up with a funnel of multiple emails spread over a few days with more useful resources and information to the reader that's relevant to the book and then try and upsell them higher ticket courses or products that will cost them more money because they have paid for a book from you. So they are primed to buy more your best customers are your existing customers. My name is Rob carbon. I'll see you in another video.
