Hey, this is Dr day. And today, before we get into the meat and bones of our next module, I want you to take a moment and I really want you to think about your attitude, because it is such an important part of your success or your failure. So the reason why I say look at your attitude is think about what your attitudes are about change. Because a lot of people see change is very stressful or fearful or have a lot of anxiety about that. And I don't want you to have that. I want you to feel empowered and excited about the changes that you're making so that you're going to feel better, your health is going to be better.
You're going to be a better part of your family and better part of your community because you are going to have the energy and vitality that you want and that you deserve it. That comes from the attitude that you take about what we're going to be doing in the next steps. Now is a great time to look at that emotional driven goals that we did at the very first part of this module. Why? Because that's the attitude that you want to take into all of these changes that you're going to make. You want to think about, if you need to change your diet, and you're like, Oh, I don't like healthy food.
I don't like green beans. I don't like all these different things. If that's the attitude that you have we get to that module, it's gonna feel really hard for you to make the changes. If you have the attitude, like, hey, Dr. Day is going to teach me some new recipes, or I'm willing to try new foods or different amounts of food to see how I feel to see if I actually feel better. That is gonna make a big difference in the way that you approach that module. So you might say, Hey, I don't like exercise.
That's crazy. Well, think about things that you Do light. So when you approach that module, approach it with the attitude of, okay? The gym is not for me, but maybe I can take a dance class, I used to like to do that when I was a kid. So that attitude gives you a very different way that you look at the approach to making these changes. Because I'll tell you one thing.
I've been seeing patients for 15 years, and the patients that even feel a little bit anxious, but are open to trying new things. They find things that they like, and you know what, they enjoy it. That's the thing. So when you get past that kind of anxiety and fear of change, you can embrace like, this is easier than I thought it was gonna be. It's more fun than I thought it was gonna be. This is actually such a good opportunity.
I'm so glad that I took this course. So what I want you to do, and I want you to think about how you are going to have an open and receptive attitude to some of the Things that I'm going to ask you to do. Now, you might have tried them before, but look at them differently, say, Hey, this is a new opportunity. I'm going to try a new exercise and I am going to feel really good about it. So that is what I wanted to tell you about attitude. And you're going to look at the handout, and you're gonna actually find attitudes that you like things that you've done successfully, and you're going to use some of those same skills when it comes to making the changes in this class.
So check it out, enjoy it, and I will see you next time.
