Let's talk about stance for a moment, we've dealt with the face. What about the rest of the body, it's important not to be distracting, and it's important also not to look too nervous or unconfident when you're delivering. A great way to do this is to imagine a string hanging from the top of your head attached to something above, and the whole of your body is suspended from that string or chain or whatever you want to visualize. It's a great way of creating a nice relaxed posture. Because when you suddenly feel yourself hanging from the string and the top of your head, your shoulders go back and down, instead of being hunched over perhaps like this, which is much less comfortable. Everything's naturally vertically stacked your shoulders go back and down.
As I've said, Everything looks relaxed. We're trying to achieve a posture here, which is simply not distracting, not in any way. Uncomfortable looking, because that tends to make your listener feel uncomfortable. Again, a great way to do this is to video yourself standing and talking and see how calm and confident and I'm distracting you look. We want to be neutral. You can move from this obviously anytime.
The important thing is to be neutral and confident looking solid in your stance if you like you can visualize routes going from your feet into the ground, which would tend to stop you from doing any jiggling movements or you know, moving about from foot to foot. So string top of the head, everything suspended roots into the ground. And there you'll have a great way to feel and to stand when you're speaking to people.
