Lesson 78 we're going to take a look at kind of an unusual Chuck Berry like that he uses to kick off the first solo in the song House of blue lights. And this one is tricky. I still not sure if I'm playing this right and I've got the first part of it right. And as he heads into the first solo, it's in the KFC. So we're gonna be playing in the first position Billy's Xbox and see he does something like this. From this position, which I think this is the only song I can think of where he does this.
And he does. I am not positive what he's playing I think I've got that pretty close. It's not like that, but he's sliding on the 12th fret, second and third string on the eighth and ninth threats of the second and third strings to the 10th fret. So that typical type of thing that we do over the first blues box, we've got something like that. That's the first part. And then I think here he goes, he goes to a double stop at the eighth fret, second or third string to the 10th fret.
And then he's gonna hammer on to the ninth fret of the third string, getting the second string as well first finger planning on the eighth fret. He's gonna play a C chord, kind of like what we just did for the no particular place to go lick. He's gonna play that F shape see without the first string in there, so we get this that's the first part of the left, check the tab. Let me do it slowly. So now we're just going the other way, starting with my first finger on the eighth fret, second and third string, hammering on the ninth fret of the third string 10th fret, second, a third string playing, double stop. Coming back the other way, check the tab on that.
So it kicks off the first solo with this play it slowly. I thought that was kind of a cool Chuck Berry like this. He placed there so he's combining that language number these pattern of double stops on the second and third strings. He's starting off the solo with that right there, which is kind of a unique thing and in terms of checks, solos he doesn't do that anywhere else. So that is the first flick and the solo for the house of the house of blue lights in the KFC.
