So references super important modern day references don't necessarily have this because reference checks are kind of like the bread and butter of recruiting, they're definitely going to call at least two. They usually asked for references afterwards. But sometimes you put your references in your resume, it's totally up to you, if you want to say, leave references out altogether or putting them in. I think what looks good is you have a reference, let's say it's your old boss, you put the number in, and a snapshot of their recommendation. So every time I leave a job, I asked for a written recommendation over on LinkedIn or on paper. So I give an example right now on one of my, my papers, one of my managers actually write a letter by letter.
That's right write a letter signed by him to my future employee, sorry, future employer and and basically It's a great way to show that your manager recommend recommend you positively. And putting this in your resume. Just a snapshot, the line actually looks great. Looks really good. It's a little bit of space, but I just think it has a classic look, and not many resumes doesn't just offer something different. So they're going to look on your LinkedIn profile anyway.
So if it's there, it just, it just matches. It's really helpful. So you want to have two tests, two referrals. You really want to get a referral from your last job. So I speaking to recruiter last week, same deal. He said that it's important that you lost one or two jobs, at least you have one reference.
And you know, you always want to impress the boss. And there must be reasons why you're leaving, you know, did you have a disagreement with your boss, you know, where you're bad employee. These are the types of questions a recruiter or HR will have to ask and if you have a reference for your last place of employment, that's excellent. So like I said, you could put it in there, make sure you have their name, their title, their phone number, and if you can attest a small brief testimony no longer than one or two cents. His LinkedIn profile as well. So I have two of those at least.
And if you are writing a recommend sorry, if you're doing a reference section and you want to save space, and let's just say you're already over the one and a half, two pages, then you can say references available upon request. It's pretty straightforward, guys. So make sure that you've got your references ready. You can even put in your resume right now as you type it out. But if you don't just put, like I said, references available on request. Great guys.
