Hello, and welcome to our 10th core lesson. And this is a special one, in my opinion, it's over the topic of happiness. Everyone wants to be happy, right? That's sort of our end goal. This particular lesson is going to help you build an emotionally rich and balanced life. least that's the plan.
And I hope you find this lesson as valuable and as interesting as I have. So starting from the beginning with our quote of the day, it goes like this from Henry David Thoreau. There is no value in life except what you choose to place upon it, and no happiness in any place except what you bring to it yourself. So that's something to think about as we go throughout this lesson. Starting with number one, we'll talk about of course, as usual, the introduction and mystery question, and it's just going to be a short mystery question for us today compared to others, perhaps. Then, we'll go on to the misconceptions that a lot of people have about what is Happiness, and what does it take to be happy?
From there? We'll talk about what determines happiness and the science behind that. We'll go into the thoughts that are required for happiness, and then to the actions that are required for happiness. And finally, we'll wrap things up with the mystery question answered. So get out some scratch paper, it doesn't really matter, just as long as you can take a few notes. Okay, I'll push pause for you for one second, so you can get that handy.
Okay, my question to you, what is happiness? You know, not everyone has the same answer. Just like success. Success has a different meaning to different people. So does happiness to you? How would you define happiness?
So take a moment, write down one sentence, two sentences, three sentences, how would you describe and or define happiness for you? Push, pause and go ahead and do that. Okay, now that you have something written on paper about happiness, what do you think makes people happy? Can you make a list of things that we need to do things that we need to have things that we need to think? Make a list of what you think are these things that make people happy? Okay, once again, push, pause and generate a shortlist.
Alright, having asked those two questions, here is the mystery question of this core lesson on happiness. According to scientific conclusions, scientific studies, according to science, what do you think was discovered to be the number one the most important thing you need in order to be happy? jot something down on paper, give it a guess. Go for it. Now, you might be right you might be wrong. And as we go throughout this lesson, will you change change your mind on the answer to this question.
So keep that in mind. What does science have to say? That's the most important thing that you need to have in order to be happy. Okay, so let's wrap up this fairly short introduction and mystery question to happiness, and then get ready for the next section. Happiness, misconceptions.
