Hi, and welcome back to 20 moves in 20 days. Today we are going to work on polymer arrays. These are just part of arrays, they are super fun, it's gonna feel a little bit wonky when you first learn them, but it's actually a great step and you're gonna want to learn it for a lot of things that will build on to it. So bear with me. As you learn them, give yourself a lot of grace and then we will get going. I'm going to start by demonstrating them and then we will break it down and not use the arms immediately.
But I just want to give you kind of an idea of what they look like. So this is what they look like coming front. And these are what they look like traveling a little bit side to side. Same stuff, I'm just using them to actually travel me across the floor. Alright, so all that is is 3d. steps.
It's backed by Front, back side, front or back side side, however you want to think about it, but three different steps. So I'm going to actually start with my right leg out, away from me. I'm going to use that to cross behind here. And then from there, I'm going to push up off that foot. So I can step out with my left, and then lunge, right? Or step, right, okay, then my left foot is where it needs to be, to alternate the step.
So it's going to step back, open side, lean forward, front, so back, side, front, back, side, front, back, side, front, and back, side front. Okay, now what I'm going to do is actually face away I think you'll get a clearer view of my feet that way. So you step starting with our right leg, we go step back opens by Front, back, open side and front, back, side, front, back, side, front, back, side, front, back, side, front, back, side, front, and back side front. Now as a reminder, you do not actually have to travel these steps if you want to kind of stay in place you can. The other good thing about them is though, that you can use them to travel across the floor. So we're going to practice that next.
If I'm heading to the right side, I'm going to actually cross with my right foot behind. I'm going to cross here, right, so me my first step, then I'm going to step out lunch front. And now as I'm trying to travel and it's purposeful, I'm going to actually lunch a little bit further out, and then I'm going to continue along All of my steps to travel forward as opposed to keeping them underneath me. Okay, so from here, my left leg is going to come in the back, it's going to go 123. So, back, side, front, back, side, front, back, side, front, back, side, front, back, side, front, back, side, front. Good.
We'll practice going the other way. I'm gonna start with my left leg, that's gonna cross behind first Hi, go back, side, front, back, side, front, back, side front. So every feeder always alternating, left, right, left, right, left, right. Good. Okay. So, that is our pod array.
Now let's incorporate the arms. If you don't want to incorporate them yet, don't feel obligated, but I would like to show them to you now. And then as you feel more comfortable with the feet, you can incorporate them at your own pace. So it's going to go 123. So step by step, open, step, step, open, which means it's going to go back, side, front, back, side, front, back, side, front, back, side, front, okay? So this is just the motion, right?
You're kind of coming in towards the self here, flat palm, just like so. And then you just coordinate it where the first two steps are here. And then on the step forward, you go either here or here, and it is an opposition. Excuse me. So if your right leg starts back Would you want it to it's going to go back side. Now I know my right foot is coming forward.
So I want to end with my left foot. I'm sorry, my left arm forward, so right leg coordinates with my left arm. Then I do it again. But now I'm gonna go up, up, switch arms, switch legs. Up, down, up, up, down, up, up, down, up, up, down. Okay, same thing heading back.
We'll start out to the side, everything's open. And then I'm going to come in 1-231-231-2312 3123123. Good. That is your Potter Bray. You can use these as traveling steps. You can use these as preps for us.
Steps in fact, we'll use it later in this course. But good work. Those are jazz pod braids. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
