Hello, and welcome to the lecture on the frequently asked question of how much does it cost? And I really love this question. So clinical hypnotherapy is a lot different than someone who goes out and finds a job. So they go out and do an interview, they get hired by someone. And what they get paid is primarily dictated by their employer, they may be there may be a little bit of negotiating room, but usually not too much. So in hypnotherapy, it's a lot different because what you charge is going to be a direct reflection of your perception of your own self worth.
And so that brings us to one of the spiritual laws of success, which is the law of giving receive. And so in this work, that law is really important because in order for there to be a flow of energy, there needs to be an equal amount of give and receive. And so, if you don't give it straight Receive on an equal amount. The spiritual law states that the energy will stagnate and what happens when the energy stagnates and hypnotherapy is that your sessions will become ineffective? They simply won't work. And so So how much do you charge?
It's a really important question. So in the beginning, it's okay to charge nothing. So give your sessions away for free, but you want to make sure to keep that the spiritual law of success of giving receive going so what are you getting in return if you're giving your sessions away for free, so what you want in return is you want one you want exposure, so you have a future potential referral base, and you want to gain some experience. So one thing I did when I moved into the town I lived live in now is that I contacted every alternative healthcare professional with an email and offered them a free session. And I got lots of people coming in for free so that helped me establish a referral base and it got my name out there. Got A little more exposure I didn't really need to experience at the time but so that helped me get my word out or get my word and my name out there a little bit better.
So, you can try something like that you can also do trades or exchanges. However, try and stay away from trades as much as you can, because what happens in the long run is they tend to be inequitable. So either you're giving or receiving more than the other person so they usually don't work out. So you can do those a little in the beginning again, try stick with them for only for as long as you're you're getting an equal amount of given receive. So within with a trade, you'll be getting either more exposure, potential referrals or be gaining some more experience. Okay, so now you've got your experience, you got your exposure and start to hang your shingle out how much you're going to charge.
So what I recommend charging is just to check around on the internet or check around in the city or town where you live and put yourself in the ballpark of what the other people are charging because what I've learned what I have learned this It's once you set your price, it's kind of difficult to raise your prices as you go, especially with your existing clients. And then as you gain more experience and you get more success, then you can start upping your rates a little bit. So that's kind of it on how much to charge so make sure to have that question ready to go in your back pocket because people are definitely gonna ask you that one. So let's move on to the next lecture.
