Hello, and welcome to the lecture on the free consultation. So congratulations, you finished your course you have some skills. And now it's time to book some clients. So you can have to get the word out there some way, maybe you have a website, social media or by word of mouth. But sooner or later, someone's going to call. And so what you want to do is that in your advertisements or in the way you get the word out, you want to make sure that you offer a free 15 minute consultation.
And make sure that you hold those consultations to 15 minutes because sometimes people can get a little needy and take up too much of your time. And also keep in the back of your mind that when someone calls. It's a very courageous move. So two things have happened. One is that they decided they need help. And two, they're taking action to make that happen.
So and they're contacting someone they probably don't know. So it's a real act of courage and you want to make sure that you respect that and also when some calls are calling to check you out. So you want to make sure that you have a little synopsis of what you're going to do in your head that you can tell them just a few minutes. So when someone calls for a free consultation for me what I'll say is that, okay, so when we book our session, here's what we're going to do. So let's say I'm working remotely on phone or on some type of video chat, excuse me. And so what I was saying during the free consultation, I'll say, so what we're going to do is that I'm going to want you to be in a place where you can be undisturbed for about an hour, if you want, you can subdue the lights and make it very comfortable, like it's a sacred space.
And then we're going to have a little discussion, and we're going to decide what you want to work on. So at that point, I'll be able to pinpoint any type of suppressed emotion that you may be carrying in your body. And then when we're ready, I'll take you into a relaxed state, I may read a story or just do some kind of progressive relaxation technique that I talked you through and then after that, take you into what's called the deepening technique and all essentially be counting backwards from seven. Using the words down and deeper to have you go from a relaxed state to a very deeply relaxed state or a trance state. And in the deepening technique, what may happen is that you may experience physical distortions. So you may feel like you're floating on a cloud, or your bodies disappearing or something like that.
So if that happens during the deepening technique, you want to take it as a very good sign, and just allow that to happen. And then when we get to the end of the deepening technique, I'll ask you to imagine yourself being in a very wonderful sanctuary place. And that's essentially where the session will begin. And at that point, I have a number of different techniques I can use to help you release suppressed emotion from your subconscious. And then after we do that, I'll probably bring you through a very nice, relaxing and peaceful feeling to end the session and simply that's it so it's a very pleasant experience and probably the worst thing that's going to happen is that you're gonna go home feeling relaxed. And so that's essentially what's gonna happen.
And so do you have any questions? And so, and also, I let them know that I'm going to send them home with a verification sheet. And so I can either email that to them or hand it to them, if it's an in person session, and then I let them know with that verification sheet, that I'm going to ask them to pull it out in three to five days to see if they can check any of that stuff off on the verification sheet. And if they can't, it's a very clear indication that what we're doing is actually working. And also let him know that I'll follow up in the next three days with with an email just to check in and see how they're doing. So that's essentially it, then you want to let them ask any questions I have.
And I'm going to deal with frequently asked questions in the next lecture. And so also remember that when someone calls are about 90%, ready to book a session, so after you have given you a little synopsis of what you're going to do and and let them ask any questions and you want to ask them the question. We Do you like to book a session? So, so either they'll say yes, or I need to think about it either way is good, but just be ready to make sure that you kind of push them on that because they're ready, they are ready and you really wanted to get them in for some help so and then if they're if they're doing a remote session, so if you're doing like, a remote chat session on a computer, or if you're doing a phone session, you want to make sure that they pay before the session begins.
Okay, so you don't want to chase people around remotely for money after you've given them their session. So make sure that you have a PayPal account that they can go to, or a website where they can actually pay for their session. So that's it for the free consultation. So make sure to make that as part of your repertoire before you begin your session so people can get to know you a little better, and that you could give them a clear idea of what to expect before the session begins. And also kind of, you know, set the hook and get them in for a session. So that's it for this session.
