The turnaround phrase that you're going to use throughout the St. Louis Blues by blending with Mattel is just a series of chords and we're leaving the alternating bass behind and just strumming some chords. So let me take it from the end of a verse. And that's how you're gonna play the turnaround and then lead in to the next verse. So what I'm doing here is a C, C, seven, F. Now a new chord, a flat seven, an A flat seventh, you just taken a seventh shape, which we've learned and move it down. So my first finger is now on the first fret and my ring finger is on the first string at the second fret. So the way I'm playing that I'm just using my thumb pick and strumming down each time, maybe there's a different way to play that, but that's how I do it.
So we got this back to the C, and when we get to the C, we're getting back to the alternating bass. So let's do it again. Should be a five, four, I accidentally went to the six, you can do that. Well, we'll learn about that with one of our, in fact our next song. But one more time, see. Actually, when you lead into that, you're doing a pitch about pitching the fifth and the second string.
But I'm getting the second string twice, listen to this. Then I'm coming down with the C seven putting the pinky on the third floor. fret of the third string so we got this one, we come back to the C, this time we're putting the pinky on the third fret of the first string before we head off into the next first. So let me play it all in context. From the end of one verse, the turnaround and then leading into the next verse, we got something like this. That's how the turnaround work.
So we got the pinch. See seven, a seven, another patch. And then we're into this C chord with the pinky on the third fret one last time It's real simple. When you come back to the city, you're back into the alternating base. Again, we're leaving it behind for the cord run, and then we're coming back to it. Now throughout the 10 you play the introduction, you do the turnaround.
And next we'll learn the verses and we'll throw the turnaround in there. And you'll see how it all fits together.
