Now I'm going to teach you how to play the E minor pentatonic scale in the first position, just like with the G major pentatonic and G major scales, let's go. So that was just a demonstration. Now I will help you go through it. Here we go, the low E string open, E, then third fret on the E string, the low E string, you can use your ring or middle finger and a which is the open A string. Then the second fret on the A string Then D, D string, second fret on the D string. Now we're into the next octave, G, A second fret on the G string, B, D, third fret on the B string, E, open high E, and then g which is the third fret on the E string.
Now we just went past the E, one note the the two octaves from E, each E and then e to e again which and we ended up at the high E here, then we just one note up, which is still part of the E pentatonic scale. So we can just play that because we're in the position here. Then we'll go back down. So g And then back to the root note of the pentatonic scale which is E, D, A, G, EDD, A, G. Okay, so what I would do now is again, if you want you can go back and play along with me. You don't have to say anything at this point, just try to get the fingering down and the frets and so on. And then you can also pause the video and just look at the data diagram and play through it again and then if you can try and say the note names just like I was doing there, just say G, A, B, and so on, going up and down.
So a good way to practice this would be just to get the initial mechanics gone. Play it a couple times, and then try playing and saying the notes, Eg etc. Now we will go on to the next lesson, where I will introduce you to the E minor scale
