All right, in this lesson we're going to talk about the importance of practice and just some practical advice for practicing. So first you want to set aside just a little bit of time a day especially as a beginner guitar, I don't know what your situation is. I don't know if you're work full time if you're a student, or whatever. But even if you can set aside say 10 minutes a day just at some point, usually consistency is the best you know, say in the morning or at some point or at lunch or I don't know, you know, after dinner and before dinner before you go to bed is good, you know, to have consistency but just the point is 10 minutes a day, roughly would be A good a good goal to have. Now if you don't make that every day, that's okay. As long as there's some sort of consistency.
With it. It's better to practice a little bit each day, say 10 minutes, you know, so four days during the week, that's 40 minutes, then say, Take 40 minutes one day in practice, it's better to do the little bit each day that will really help keep things just just, you know, the learning just flowing and when you go to play something one day, and you're struggling on and so you're really trying to play like this, what's called an E minor chord, okay? And you're, you're struggling with it, and it's just like, I don't know, it's just not happening, right? Well, the neat thing is, the next time you go to play it, for somehow, it just becomes a little bit easier to write. So that's why it's better to practice a little bit each day. Then all at once in one day, because in the one day, it's harder to make that progress that you want to make.
Now in terms of what to practice? Well, we obviously haven't learned anything yet. But the idea will be to practice what we've learned in a particular lesson. For say, five minutes, and then once you get going through the lessons to review what you've already practiced, or to start out reviewing, you know, an old lesson, play for five minutes, and then five minutes on the new material. And then you can call it a day. The other thing too is I highly encourage you to visit other websites or YouTube videos.
To expand your learning. Say we say I taught you an E minor chord. I would highly recommend, say, typing in YouTube, like how to play an E minor chord or songs with an E minor chord, and that will really help your learning from there. So there's those are just a few thoughts on practicing I hope that helps as we get started
