The five chord in E blues is the B seven chord. Now this one might be a little trickier than some of the other chords you've learned. I know it took me a little while to get it, I'm sure you'll get it way faster than I did. But here it is. So you have your middle finger on the second fret of the A string and then your pointer finger on the first fret of the D string. And then your ring finger on the second fret of the G string.
And then your pinkie on the high E string, second fret strumming from the A string down. Oh, hold that shape there for you to look at. Or you can just pause the video. All right, so again, middle finger second fret of the A string, pointer finger first fret of the D string, ring finger, second fret of the G, and then skip over the B and to the high E string, pinky finger. So you give that a shot. Also what might help is if you form the C add nine chord if you remember that one and then you just shift down one fret, the whole shape and then put your ring finger on the G string.
And there you go. You have the B seven quarters. So again, that's considered the five chord in E blues. Now, as with any key and learning the chords within that key, it's good to practice the transitions between the chords so be good idea to play e seven and then be seven I know that might take some time, one little tip for that particular transition. So we're on E seven here, you'll notice that the middle finger, so we're going to go now to the B seven, the middle finger stays constant. And then you just putting the pointer finger on the D string, but same fret as you had it for the E seven.
Okay? And then you can put your ring finger down on the G and pinky finger down. And there you go. So you might just have to, you know, spend some time with that, and that's totally fine. Repetition is really important to learning. You know anything new on the guitar.
So you practice that you practice B seven to then a seven. Again, one thing you can notice here from the V seven If you just take these two fingers here and just hop them over to the D and B strings, you got your a seven. So once you've practiced that out practice e seven to B seven that transition, then practice to transition from the seven to a seven. Once you're comfortable with that, then head over to the next lesson where we will strum through the E blues.
