Congrats on learning a few chords in the key of E minor. Now let's head over to the key of A and learn a few chords from that key. First, we're going to start with the a CT. Now, if you remember from the key of E minor, we have a sus two want to give that a try is from the a sus two chord. And now all you have to do to make the A chord is put your pinkie down on the second fret of the B string and then give it a strum and that's your a chord. So a sus two and then your a CT with your pinky down. Now again have proper left hand technique.
So you want to keep your fingers nice and curved. Have some space between the neck of the guitar and the palm of your hand, your thumb shouldn't be like this. It should be at the bottom of the neck here, or somewhere somewhere comfortable there, kind of like you're, you're almost like you're pinching the neck with your fingers to get them to ring out. And again, it's probably common for that high E string to not going out yet. If your fingers in the way your pinky finger is in the way, so do the best you can to keep it nice and curved. So it's out of the way.
Now, if you're having trouble with the actual string itself where your pinky is on, just, you know again, don't fret too much over it. Just try it a few times, forming the chord a few times and Play a SS to, you know, a few times and then put your pinky down and play that a few times. Now, you can also use your index, middle finger and ring finger to form the chord. This might be actually a little easier, I played it the other way just to help you, you know help you with familiar territory playing the ACE us to to just put your pinkie down. Now you can also play aces too with your index and your middle finger and then put your ring finger down on the B string. That might be a little easier.
It's good to give both of those fingerings a try. Alright, so you can pause the video and work on that a chord. Once you're comfortable with that, then head over to the next lesson where we're going to learn the D chord.
