All right, so now I'm going to talk about the parts of the guitar. I'm going to start with the acoustic guitar, which shares a lot of the same terms as the electric guitar, which I will show later. So we first have the body here is called the body, then you have a Picard, which keeps it from getting scratched when you're playing, or the body from getting strapped scratched when you're playing. Then you have the sound hole where the sound comes out of. This is called the bridge. And so it bridges the gap between the body and the headstock for the strings to connect the strings all the way across.

Okay, so you have now the neck of the guitar, which on it has the fret board, which has a bunch of frets, which we'll talk more about later, but a quick demonstration. This would be fret one, fret two, three, etc. So, as I mentioned, this is called the headstock, this is called the nut. And these are called the tuning knobs, which are very important and we will talk more about those later. I will show you now the electric guitar. Okay.

So the only difference here aside from being an electric is that the body is a lot is, is a solid body, right it's not like a big it's not a hollow you know opening for, you know sound to come out of that's why we don't have a sound rule here. But what we have are pickups and that's what picks up the sound. So you can have with this switch, you can have one pickup on or you can have two at a time for example. These are the different knobs on the electric guitar. This controls the volume and these to control the tone. And what that means is just whether it's a brighter sound or a darker sound etc.

This is the input jack where you would put the cable of the guitar. Okay, so if you have an electric guitar, then hopefully you will also have acquired an amp. Now with the amp, I just want to cover the different knobs that you can have on it. And for example, you probably see volume or master volume, or maybe just as master or maybe you have both or it says gain or something like that. So, really the volume and master volume obviously control the volume, right, the master volume, you can you can kind of mess with those to find the volume you want the gain. If you're finding that the when the gains up the targets really like kind of distorted or just you know too much too loud.

Then, on a lot of the especially the intro amps, you can just turn that all the way down, and it should eliminate that sound. Now if it turns off the sound, then maybe just turn the gain up a little bit. Just to help it not get too distorted, then usually there's the treble, treble knob and a bass knob, sometimes even a mid, and you just want those about five. You just want those right in the middle. So it's not a bad idea just to start with the knobs in the middle and then adjust them from there. All right.

So hopefully that gives you a start with parts of the guitar, an AMP if you have one, and next we'll talk about how to hold the guitar and the position
