All right, now let's talk about the last chord in this module, the D sus two. In order to play the D sus two, you're going to use your index finger and your ring finger. We're gonna start by placing your index finger on the second fret of the G, the G string. Then you'll take your ring finger and place it on the third fret of the B string 123. That's all you need. So this time, you're going to strum from the D string down.
Again, make sure your fingers are nice and curved. Make sure your thumb is not like this but at the bottom of the neck. Make sure that your palm is added a little bit of a distance between the neck or from the neck and you kind of just using your thumb as like a pressure point to really press down on the chord. So try that a few times, if you want to pause, just try strumming that a few times, see if you can get the ring out. If the if that high E string isn't ringing out, it's probably because your ring fingers a bit in the way. So you're gonna do the best you can to curve it a little more and get it so that you're just pressing, you're putting pressure just directly down onto the string.
And that can take time. It really can I mean, this could take Who knows, maybe a week or two or more depending on how frequent or infrequent you can practice right? So don't give up on it right away. Just be patient. And just just try it a little bit each day. I get a little bit you each table Honestly, it really helps even if it's five minutes before you go to bed, it will really help and it almost just like naturally start to happen and then it'll become more fun learning the chords.
And then you'll be able to learn more chords faster and so on. So again, just like we did with the HS two let's practice chord transition. We're going to take the E minor chord and play it four times 1234 then transition to the D sus two chord 1234. So if you want to pause the video and give that a try a few times. Now a couple tips about transitioning. First of all, if you're really struggling, just strumming once, or don't even struggle at all just form the chord and then practice forming the next chord and then just go back and forth.
Really slow. So that's it for learning the D sus two chord. Now let's head on over to the next lesson where we're going to learn how to play a chord progression.
