In this video, let's have another perspective of looking at creativity. And I especially like it, and I especially find it enlightening for myself. And that's why I wanted to kind of include two videos for looking at what exactly is creativity and how do we approach this topic. So first for this way to look at it is, it's the opposite of habit. habit. habits can be wonderful.

They're fantastic productivity tool for doing tasks that are repetitive that you don't necessarily want to do. They can get you to stop to reverse procrastination. In the field of productivity, the spacebar habit, building good habits is a fantastic and very wonderful, full topic that is very widely explored and habits are amazing. The problem though, that habits are precisely the act of doing the same thing. Time and time again, is just doing it habitually without thinking. and creativity is the opposite of that creativity is doing the same things in new finding new ways new solutions to old or new problems.

So we have to break out of the of the habit and the challenge with breaking out of the habit. And most of us, we live in habit, because there is only a limited amount of unique attention we can give to anything every day. And most things just get habitually taken care of. And a lot of times, what's working today won't work tomorrow. And if we keep it as a habit, the things that are working today will will stop working over time and be less effective. And we want to really pay attention to it or know it until it's too late.

Because it's you know, we've been doing something as a habit and not really paid attention to it. So that's the danger of habit is that it becomes subconscious and we don't pay attention to it. And we don't apply creativity to certain parts of our lives or work in enough time. Okay, so so we're going to have to Reverse that habitual basically doing the same thing because it works. Okay? So because any any solution no matter how good it is today will become stale and and ineffective over time.

And we need to keep ourselves ahead of the curve. So we need something to push us into the creativity. This is the missing element for most people. Because it's not the fault of the people. It's just how our minds are. So, here are some things that push us sort of into the tackling problems with creativity.

Natural curiosity is the absolute best. I know for myself that the whole reason that many many, many, many years ago, I started my intrapreneurship journey was really because of natural curiosity. And I wanted to try things and I wanted to try things the next day and the next day and they kept failing, but I just was really good. Curious about just exploring my own ideas and that was that has that curiosity was so internal. It had so much fuel for me that now when I see other entrepreneurs, they just want to make a quick buck. Well, there's there's no fuel in that, right?

They just want to make a quick buck in one thing here today at another thing tomorrow. There is no lasting power. So that was a little segway story. But I hope you understand that natural curiosity is a fantastic, fantastic tool to push you into creativity. Other things that maybe you don't have natural curiosity for everything. So So how do you force it?

Sometimes stressful events like world or market changes, they push you in, you know, the challenge. They change the business environment and they push you into force you really into solving problems in a new way. Otherwise, you're going to go out of business. Sometimes there are internal changes inside of you. Maybe some realizations changes that force you to So your social, or career issues in different way, sometimes their relationship changes that forced you to look differently at new relationships. And the very old interesting one, not interesting, but the old, the old useful.

One is, of course, deadlines. deadlines, push you to work harder and faster and less relaxed, right? Because, oh my god, you have a deadline. And of course, ironically, the thing that can also push you to creativity is precisely when your old solution that was habitually made, is no longer effective, although huge note here, that by this time, it's sometimes too late. It would be much better if you had an actual curiosity. And if you had a natural curiosity, you will be one of the first people to look for solutions.

And if you if you're simply tackling things with old same old habit, then then you basically are going to be the last person to look at certain things creatively in that realm. Because You're only going to do it when you absolutely have to when you're totally forced by events and people who have the natural curiosity, curiosity, and aptitude for certain certain things that you need to be creative about, they're going to be way ahead of you because they just wanted to do it in the first place, not because they were forced into it. Now, when you get ideas, some of them will be outlandish, and they will seem absurd. Those often don't work, of course, but elements of them or sometimes even all of them, they will be brilliant and unique. And they will only seem absurd because they are so are regional and they have so much unusual, unique stuff.

And that's actually exactly what you wanted. You wanted to break out of the habit you wanted absurd and unique and new. And the very unique ideas have a lot of that and they should always be approached in this kind of mindset. Instead of it's very easy to knock them All this idea is stupid. This idea is bad, it doesn't seem right. But that's the wrong way.

The right way to do it is with enthusiasm for the idea. Yes, of course, the idea might not work out. But if you have enthusiasm for ideas, you'll explore it enough. Or at least you'll get your chance, you'll give yourself a chance to explore enough to the point where you'll, you'll see all the ins and outs, and maybe some of the elements of this unique idea will be the foundation for some new breakthrough work that you are going to embark on doing later. Or it will, it will, it will be good things to inject into your current approach and make it new. So always look for new ideas, the more unique the better, because the more unique that means that there's so much room to exclude, you just got into a place where there's so much new new stuff to explore and you haven't been exploring that aspect of it.

So use it as a playground for your mind. And that's the right way to look at new ideas and extract the most creativity out of them.
