Now I want to talk about the very famous theory of multiple intelligences by Howard Gardner of Harvard. In his research, Howard Gardner found that there are seven key intelligences that all of us have. But some of us have some more than others, making some of us better learners in some ways, and some of us better learning in other ways. So in this video, I'm going to walk you through all of these and explain what best is for you. Or if you if you maybe are leading a team or you have employees, you have to understand what each of your employees what they're talented in, and what their key intelligences are so that you can present them information in the in a way that's easy for them to understand and then implement. So it's a good way to understand how the people you manage are as well as yourself.
So what are the seven intelligences Visual spatial. This is for people who are good with outdoors, good at seeing geometry, puzzles, architecture. These are just inherently more talented that then there's bodily and kinesthetic, that's people who perform tasks. Well, this can be athletes, but this can be also people who have to do surgical tasks well, like maybe sculpture or something like that or surgery. Now that then there's musical, that's very odd, that's very obvious where that is, you know, people who respond well with sounds rhythm. Then there's inner interpersonal, which is basically empathy to others, and to being able to work well with others understand others influence others.
And then there's the opposite of that intrapersonal basically understanding yourself better and being able to manage yourself better. And then there's linguistic, which is essentially verbal and written skills. So if you've always taught all Maybe I'm not smart because I don't have good verbal and written skills. It isn't that it just probably you have just other intelligences. And the last one is the logical and mathematical. It's the reasoning and problem solving side.
And for for each of these, you have to whether it's for yourself or for your team that you manage, you have to identify what you what the each individual is best at, and then present information in a way that suits them. So here are the examples of how each of them learns best. For example, for people who are good with visual spatial intelligence, they need to learn through graphics, charts, pictures, maybe being shown visually what visual visual walkthroughs people who are good with bodily and kinesthetic. They learn by performing physical tasks. So it's not enough just to Tell them they need to actually do it themselves and then it will become second nature to them. I mean people who have the musical intelligence, they learn better with audio based learning, sometimes musical learning rhythmic learning, if that's possible interpersonal intelligence people who have the interpersonal intelligence, they require sometimes one on one attention being able to you know, having somebody explained to them more the people who are have the interpersonal intelligence, they on the other hand, they just need more time for introspection and for the information to sink in.
So, they're okay learning from books or other sources, but they just need more time for introspection on and really kind of. Yeah, like I said, letting the information sink in and to make sense of all the information in the process and then people who are Have the linguistic intelligence, they need the lectures, recorded materials that's good for them. And then people who are have the logical mathematical intelligence, they learn through puzzles, challenges, logical games. So if you give them like a big puzzle to solve or frame things as though it was a puzzle that would make sense for them. So these are the seven, Intel, these seven key intelligences that different people have. Just, you know, everyone has these, like I said, is just that we all have more or less of each one of them.
So no one's perfect. No one's amazing and all of them. But each one the task of all of us is to figure out what is what are our strengths, and double down on those strengths, so that we can take the most advantage of them.
