So how do we actually utilize essential fatty acids within the naturopathic world we speak about the three stages of treatment. And it's extremely important to get to stage one right in order to be able to start absorbing essential fatty acids to the right level. The first stage is actually drinking that four pints of water that has a good pH balance of 7.3 and above pH, and also things like caffeine, caffeinated drinks, sugary drinks, alcohol. The main thing is when we reduce those drinks, our absorption increases of water and anything else that we put in the body that's useful. And so to have the hydration process that's really crucial to work with that four pints of water and reduction in what we call diuretics. Also process salt as a direct check.
So, again, it will consume a loss of process. So in the process is food industry or just add it to our food then that may be inhibited in the process. Part of stage one is actually looking at the hydration of diet, which I've spoken about in the previous session. And that will involve using the high percentage of water rich foods. And it's recommended that we're consuming grains and even the gluten free seed grains, that they're generally soaked for at least eight hours overnight or during the day before cooking, that can have a really big impact on the healing the healing process and the hydration process. So generally, if we're dehydrated, essential fatty acids won't be absorbing that well.
And if they are absorbing only a small percentage will be absorbing and the other level that's not absorbed is stored in the body. So what can happen is that there can be weight gain particularly around the thighs and areas of the body that might look like you're gaining weight. Basically, maybe say Like me increase. And so to hydrate first is so crucial to be able to get the benefits of those essential fatty acids. Also the water levels, they flesh out the bad fats. So when you reduce in the bad fat, you've got that sort of clear in happening on the lymphatic system all throughout the lymphatic system.
And so when the water is in place, and the hydration of diet is in place, with a reduction in the hydrogenated fats, the heated fats and the animal based fats, the system starts to soften. What I mean by that is the cell is actually starting to become more permeable so that the nutrients are moving in and out and the cells and the good fats are moving in and out of the cells. And therefore the system will start to feel more relaxed, more peaceful, on a central nervous system level. So when we're taking the essential fatty acids as good levels, the nerves become fully nourished. The adrenal glands become happier. So we've stabilized in not only our nervous system, but also our blood sugar and our adrenal at birth.
If we're not taking enough fat, the adrenal energy becomes unhappy and we've become slightly hyperactive, inability to sleep properly, with become agitated more easily. And this all really starts on a hydration level. So if you're dehydrated and stage one, and you jump to stage two, which is essential fatty acids, you might find that those fats are actually causing you more harm than good. They're making you feel happier and and less at peace. So always start with stage one, hydration and diet and then stage two will fit in nicely into the diet when you've got the basics right. And from that, when we increase essential fatty acids, they're a medium to absorb the vitamins and magnesium and zinc.
So without, without those fatty acids, we're not actually absorbing the right minerals, and therefore the B vitamins, which are all again, very important hormone Ileane Nervous System wise. And so to switch off what we call adrenal alert, dehydration alerts, we need to go through the stages in the right sequence in order to get the full benefit of essential fatty acids. And so when the good fats are being utilized, we will feel more energetic, less cravings, we will find that we're really memorizing a lot more information that we've got a general feeling of calm and peace within the system. And also feeling like we're in the right level for our body and keeping the weight stable so that there's not this yo yo happening with the weight balance. And so how do we do this long term within our diets How does it die of love with a good level of essential fatty acids?
A typical day really is waking up and having you soak in seeds or chia seeds. Some people may want to make a chia porridge where you increase in the amount that you have over a shorter period of time. You could even make a cheer milk or linseed milk, which is simply grinding those seeds, a couple of tablespoons with water blends in it and then put in that through a number we call a network of bags you sipping out with fiber from those milks, or myth milk is also delicious wine which you might even combine with a small amount of cashew almonds. So that would mean combine in twice as much omega three rich nuts, two sixes, soaking them for at least two hours straight in the water off those nuts or seeds. And then blending them with a liter of water and putting it through a network bag.
So you've got that sensibility. So Amiga three rich drink, and also a really great one for children to be having. So it's fresh and you could actually stabilize that with a little bit of salt and a small amount of natural sweetener, which could really help you to keep that stable for at least three days in the refrigeration. And so you're starting to eat these and drink these wonderful concoctions which are very alive for enzymes and full of essential fatty acids. And then throughout the day, there may be times where you put your soap nuts or seeds into your salads. You could make a delicious nut, hummus or see Thomas which would go alongside a nice salad that would increase the protein quite like protein, flaxseed oil or hemp oil into your hammers which you're making yourself and that homeless could be based on Raw chickpeas which have been sprouted or cooked chickpeas.
Even using another bean, it doesn't need to be chickpeas to produce hemp seeds as well as sunflower seeds. And so you're starting to really think about incorporating essential fatty acids with every meal. And if the addiction is is stronger for things like alcohol, drug use, etc. That person might be to have a tablespoon of essential fatty acids every two hours throughout the day in order to stabilize those cravings. And we're not saying you have to do that forever, but it may be a definite phase of two years where someone is being much more strict with that intake to get off the addictive cycle. And that's an important one because in order to break the addiction cycle, there's usually a much greater need for essential fatty acids, short, shorter term and maybe longer term for some people based on the history.
So if someone is coming from a history where there's alcoholism, drug intake, fertility issues in the family history, mental health issues. It really is a call for a much higher level of essential fatty acids compared to someone who may have a much lighter sort of family history. And so what I will say is that all addictive things can be broken with a combination of the correct eatin essential fatty acids and some emotional work, which can help to sort of break out cycle longer term
