Seven as you might like to do when you get these local homegrown vegetables, or something that you naturally do anyway, is when you start to get into the vegetable, you start actually smell what the vegetables are supposed to smell like. And even more important, when you eat the vegetables, they taste like what the vegetables are supposed to taste like. Now this may sound simple, but I've noticed through my life, especially when I was eating non organic things from supermarkets and multinationals, I noticed that the taste and the smell of those things weren't just weren't tasting and smelling like the ones that my grandfather used to grow in his garden. And what I noticed most when I started going into more of a seasonal organic diet is that these seasonal and organic vegetables smell like the ones on my from my grandfather's garden and greenhouse really satisfying to be cooking with these ingredients because you know that the nutrients are there.
How many times have you opened a bag of vegetables or something from your supermarket and started cutting into them? There's just no sand, no Roman, whatsoever. Flowers is another good example. No, we're not eating the flowers. You can eat a lot of flowers. And go Be careful which one's mine, but a lot of flowers can be very beneficial.
That's a sidetrack. So, if you've noticed with flowers, you start to have a little a smell of flowers these days. Again, from supermarkets, usually there's not much sent them. Whereas if you're picking them from nature, where they've grown, there's a lovely natural aroma which comes from them. And it's very much the same with the fruits and vegetables that we get. So that's very satisfying.
I also love it when we're giving it to our children because of course the children are our future. And if they're getting all these nutrients when they're younger, They're going to grow into thriving adults lots of energy and vitality. So that's another couple of nice things that we can gain from seasonal and locally then is getting more satisfaction from cooking and providing food for families.
