You need to have a specific mindset when you're in a media interview. To many people, even if they're comfortable, confident in other aspects of their life. They're all nervous. It's like they're walking on eggshells in the middle of an interview, or they feel like their back is against the wall. And they're just hoping the reporter doesn't sort of hit them or throw something at them. Now, if you follow the principles I've talked about in this course, I want you to feel like you're in control.
I want you to feel like your finger is on the control button. The Edit button has nothing to do with whether the reporter loves you hates you. smart or dumb, nice, sympathetic or antagonistic. If you have great messages, and you have great sound bites for your messages, and you know how to make sure you turn off the sound bites. When you're speaking, you will feel like you are in control. So It's not about being this walking talking quote machine.
It's about control. Turn it on when it's on your message, turn it off. When you have to talk about something that is not a part of your message
