Productive people celebrate victories in life. This idea that to be productive, you have to have your nose to the grindstone at all times, it just is not true. by celebrating your victories, your wins, you're also motivating yourself to be even more productive in the future. Whether you write a best selling book, or just get one new client, or accomplish some finish that novel, celebrate by drinking some champagne, going out to dinner, throwing a party, it's whatever will make you happy. It's not about me prescribing something to you. You could spend money you don't have to spend money, it could be just doing something out of the ordinary.
But life cannot be absolutely the same every single day. You need some high points. You need things to look forward to as a reward and you need things to after you've accomplished something that gives you an acknowledgement. People in the movie industry have their Academy Awards every year and for some, that's what they're working towards. You might not have an academy awards in your industry. I don't really in my industry, but there are certain things that you know, when you do it.
You're happy about it's an accomplishment. So whether it's taking yourself out to dinner, having friends over to celebrate, getting a special cake, whatever it is, you do, don't scrimp on it. You'll actually be increasing your productivity when you give yourself a reward for past productivity.
