Here's an example of looking for the fun. Like most people, probably you, I have to write a lot. I have to write memos. I have to write emails. I have to respond to questions here on this learning platform. I have to respond to reviews on this learning platform.
I have to send out proposals. A huge part of every day is sending people written documents. And maybe you're not like that, but chances are you have to do so here's the problem. I don't particularly like to type. I've never been a good typist. in junior high school, we were supposed to do 25 words a minute to pass.
I peeked at 23 words a minute, no. Teacher cut me a break I took typing again in high school. Still wasn't very good to this day. Even though I use the correct fingers for the keys, I have to look at every single key and it's an incredibly slow process. When I'm in a hurry, which is most of the time, I have tons and tons of spelling errors. If you ask me to spell something correctly, I'll spell it correctly.
But when I'm typing it, it comes out wrong. So now I got to run through spellcheck. And now I got to correct the words. And sometimes my typing is so bad, that the suggestion from spellcheck doesn't even show up. So I have to go in and manually retype the whole word. So typing for me is like what plus the fact that I've written half a dozen books, and that's a blog post, all the other things.
I don't really like writing. So here's what I do now. And I've been looking for this solution for 30 years of simply speaking, and it converts it to text. It's only been, for me anyway, mid 2018, which is when I'm recording this, that the function on Google Docs and iPhones, that it's so good where I can speak out and have my words converted to text efficiently that it really works. So now, I'm 10 times faster at responding to emails, sending text, writing blog posts, because I don't actually type or handwrite. I'm just speaking Well, it turns out, I like speaking, I can speak so much faster than I can write.
You may be the opposite. He may much prefer writing and not speaking. That's okay. Again, you've got to individualize what your strengths are, what your likes and dislikes are. So for me, this has been a radical change in my own productivity. Because now I don't have to get all motivated to write this big long blog post or this big memo or proposal.
I simply sit back and I talk to my computer that's fun for me, you got to figure it out. How to take mundane tasks. Use modern technology and make it fun for you do that. Your productivity will skyrocket without using an ounce of willpower in the process to get motivated. You won't need motivation
